Can't argue with that, I also agree with what was said about striking a balance between organisation and taking a chance, which is I suppose something that will only get better as you play.
I just hope it's successful as I bloody love a pacy, skilful winger and I think he's better than we've had in a long time.

Welcome to the 'agenda' club. One step out of line and you're anti-Forest.![]()
I agree with you, Dias looks a little bit off on his positioning and runs off the ball. He works better when he's got open space to run towards but he takes up too many positions where he is crowded out and ends up losing the ball. If you're going to do that you need to be really neat, one touch lay-offs and agile to look for one twos. Carvalho can do it, I don't think Dias can. Not a bad player by any stretch just needs to utilise his core skills better and stay wider. He suffers from the Muzzy Carayol problem of not playing to his strengths.

Haven't seen any of the last two games to comment on Dias but as GBG alluded to: inconsistency can be expected early on coming into a new league at a young age. The fact Monaco bought Dias is testament to his talent, they rarely get it wrong buying young players and he's put in enough good shifts to show he's got ability. I would be surprised if we did sign both of them permanently, personally I think it'll be one or the other.
Carayols strengths: can run fast.
Carayols weaknesses: not a footballer.
Without wishing to derail the thread too much, both Carayol and Dias spend too much time drifting into the middle and shooting rather than staying out wide and running towards the byline. That's the comparison, not that they're of equal ability.
Goncalves is going to storm the league, just watch.
This is what i heard.. He's had a couple of flashes of class but 3/4 poor games.. There are plenty of similar players (we've had a few) that just don't have the right footballing brain. Cash looks twice the player which is testament to the player, his attitude and the forest set up..
Is Goncalves suspended or has Karanka decided the sending off means he is finished? I thought I read that the suspension only applies to the cup games.
I still haven't seen him play bar a few mins against WBA.

So was Klopp right?
Looks like we need to sell Carvalho cant score against Lichtenstein even though he didnt come on, not good enough for Nottingham Forest
I think that's harsh, 1 game was his debut, one he only played for 12 minutes as a sub, 1 he was poor but so was the entire team and 1 game he was good and harshly sent off, considering hes not had a run of games, it would be silly to write him off now, I don't think hes worth the stated fee it would cost to buy him, but I don't think hes a bad player or anything, would like to see him get a chance if/when Lolley loses form
