    Default (BUPA) Bruno Varela

    Apparently negotiations have intensified.

    https://www.noticiasaominuto.com/des...tingham-forest

the next few days may be decisive for the future of Bruno Varela. Nottingham Forest has the goalkeeper as one of the top targets for next season and plans to close the deal as soon as possible.

The English club has already intensified contacts with Benfica, but so far no agreement has been reached by the Portuguese player.

Luís Filipe Vieira does not admit to trading below 15 million euros, but Nottingham officials are trying to lower the bar.

The presence of Benfica in England, where it carries out the pre-season stage, between the days 15 and 20 of this month, could be decisive to unlock the process, since the incarnated entourage will be very near the headquarters of the English.

This could be a golden opportunity for Nottingham Forest to seal the transfer of the 23-year-old guard, who has now opened the door. With the hiring of Vlachodimos and the continuity of Svilar, the Portuguese lost space and Benfica never proved intransigent about a possible transfer.

It should be recalled that his Majesty's land emblem already has four Portuguese in the squad: João Carvalho - sold by the eagles for 15 million euros -, Diogo Gonçalves - given by the club of Luz -, Gil Dias (ex-Fiorentina ) and Tobias Figueiredo (former Sporting).

    Yeah I like it too.

I've thrown it through google translate a number of ways to try and fathom what they are calling us, but with no luck

I would guess that the King of Portugal’s land emblem is a forest.

i cant see us spending 15 mil on a keeper when we are already well stocked at the position and just spend a fair bit of dough on Costel (who i doubt would have come here to be a backup)

Portugal is a republic and hasnt had a King (or Queen) for over 100 years (and their emblem was a Wyvern)

Well, it does say “His Majesty” which is the usual reference to a king and I’m not aware of any royal connection for Forest. Perhaps the writer was thinking of “Sir” Trevor Francis and got confused.

I really hope this turns out to be bullshit. Would be sheer lunacy if true.

Spending €15m on a keeper after signing Pantillimon would be dreadful business. Don't think this will happen though.

Yeah doesn't seem like it's something that will actually happen.

But then if he's a top 'keeper you wouldn't find me complaining. Wouldn't say it's something we're desperate for at all, and I don't see us spending that amount of money, but if he is someone who's going to be a very good Prem keeper going forward, you probably do it.

Would rather we spent 15m on a striker than a goalie. Never going to happen at that fee or even close to that fee.

If Vukcevic is available I'd rather we spent it on him.

    More chance of Bruno Mars.

Hope this is bullshit. With fee mentioned we could sign Byram, Mings/Fabio, Colback/Vukcevic
Pantilimon more than adequate 1st choice GK at champ level & Smith or even Kapino good 2nd choice GK.

If we spend 15m on Varela I assume it goes beyond us just wanting to spunk 15m on a goalkeeper. We (ownership/management) clearly have a relationship with Mendes and Benfica, and I assume favours will go both ways.

Possibly, or Benfica are struggling for cash so cheques are being passed round to balance books.

This would a massive waste of money in my opinion if we have Pants.

Looking at his saves on Youtube, he doesn't like catching anything. Benfica fan's don't rate him either, I seriously hope we aren't considering this guy.

If we spunk this much on someone we don't need we really need to question our relationship with mendes.

If this is true subtle alarm bells are beginning to ring.

    It's obviously bollocks.

A ridiculous fee for a player in a position in which we are already overstocked. You could get Britt back for that sort of money.

For 15m I’d expect the Championship equivalent of David de Gea.

I wonder if this could be similar to the other loans, where a “€15m rated” player comes on loan on a try before you buy deal?

Maybe Pants was always seen as the backup and that’s why it took a while to broker the deal?

More chance of Bruno Brookes. He'd get us in the top four (ty)
