It's not like we'd be loaning Messi FFS. Let them continue to pay him for not playing.

I'd rather the million quid gets put towards the academy, or making sure we've got enough pies in.

Looks like it. Reports are that Villa are backing out.

The loan system is broken. There should be no such thing as a loan fee. A loan should benefit all 3 parties. Bournemouth and Mings would benefit from him playing games. We benefit from him playing at a level that improves us. Why do we pay for the privilege of getting his career back on track?

Sun says 1m loan fee, so it's undeniably true.

The Sun defaults to one million because it’s easier to write than three hundred and fifty thousand.

I hope we keep the receipt. What's the return policy at Bournemouth?

Edit: I like the player, just don't want to see another byram situation.

Nobody at The Sun can count to three.

„I believe in socialism because it seems more humanitarian, rather than every man for himself and 'I'm alright jack' and all those arsehole businessmen with all the loot. I made up my mind from viewing society from that angle. That's where I'm from and there's where I've made my decisions from. That's why I believe in socialism“

    Tails:

Also told that #nffc might have a better chance than they thought, in the last few days, of landing Tyrone Mings on loan. If that does prove to be the case, he'd be just what they need to strengthen at the back. He's top class. Strong.

    19 games in 4 seasons.

I don't care about the rumoured fee, because reality is we don't know what it is.

But for someone we're likely to be depending on to play 17 games in 3 months or so. It's risky.

Loan fee agreed according to Chippers. Only club to have agreed one.

I would hope if it is anything close to £1m its the equivalent of a deposit, to be made permanent in the summer if he manages to un-biscuit himself in the next few months.

That is exactly how I read the article too. Mad short-termism if it’s true.

    Short termism is the plan.

There’s no doubt he’s an excellent player and would make a significant difference if he can get and stay match fit.

If it's with an option to buy at a sensible price if he proves his fitness might turn out ok.

Remember he came to ours with Ipswich. Best player on the park that day, he's premier class I reckon.

    Worth the risk.

Out of contract in the summer? Could justify a high fee if he'll be available on a free

If it's £1m for just a loan then it's bad business, but if it is with an option to buy (if he stays fit) then it is potentially a very good deal.

No doubting that he is a fantastic player at this level, it's just his fitness that is the problem.

Did he stamp on Zlatan Ibrahimovic a few years ago? If so it's a yes from me.

Could be MON's Des Walker? Let's hope he plays enough games to see!

No questions around his ability, he would be our best defender if he comes in.
