I'm not so sure. I reckon it would be a 50/50 or 60/40 split.

I've seen quite a few full blooded challenges defended by pundits where they've said it would be hard to prove the intent.

With a leg/foot coming down on someone on the grass, those are probably the most difficult to prove.

It's not a leading elbow, it's not an obvious sliding tackle, so it's always open to interpretation. If the 'stamp' was intended a lot of people suspect, it's one of the sneakiest and nastiest ones in the book. Because you'll be fully aware you can probably get away with it and claim innocence immediately.

From the bastian of #ITK Nixon reckons that Bournemouth want 25m for Mings.

Not that we're linked but thought this was interesting due to the amount they want.

I've just realized that last year we spent 25m in total, but with sales 16m net......

    I agree with this.
However much you want to win a game there are lines that you don’t want to cross.

This is a good example of how daft the money involved in 'buying British' is now days. £20m+ for a player whose knee is a time bomb, has only managed over 20 games in a season once and who has never made much of an impact at Premier League level before. I rate Mings as a footballer despite the stamping stuff but it seems like Villa are getting shafted here.

Six months ago we were deliberating on whether it was worth pushing the boat out and risking £3m on him.

It's lucky that wasn't under a manager that Alf liked, or we'd be hearing about it for years to come as evidence for why we'd be in the PL by now!

It is a good example of the premium on buying British players. He did very well at Villa, fitted in well and they can afford him, so it’s easy to see why they want him. £26m is a lower third EPL transfer fee these days.
