Karanka is definitely going for a certain style isn't he.

    Attacking full-backs. 4-2-3-1.

    Sounds very exciting.

It's not the dour defensive approach everyone seemed to insist he'd go for.

    Hoping for a 433

    2 attacking full backs
3 rotating midfielders from the base
2 inverted goal scoring wide men rotating with a goal scoring machine.

    Total football.

I think when we signed Dias it was pretty clear the 3 at the back idea was put to bed.

We're carrying 4 wingers now, and looking at signing 2 attacking full backs if reports are to be believed. With Carvalho the big money buy so far then it's a very clear indication it's going to be a 4-2-3-1.

I reckon 4231 or 433 are both likely options depending on the opposition.

It only takes a second to score a goal.

Both equally viable given whats transpiring.

I don't see 433 yet. As it currently stands it would mean something like Bridcutt, Watson and Guediora as the three, or Watson, Bridcutt and Yates.

None of those are an out and out anchor, like Colback is.

It also means Carvalho gets dropped if you play with out and out wingers.

If we're going to play a 433 then we need two more central midfielders, not just the one.

Bridcutt & Watson are both "out & out anchors" who rotate from the base or sit as a two , Carvalho assumes a position in front of both behind the striker!

    I dont see the problem.

I expect us to sign more players before the season starts, including at least one more midfielder. Towards the end of last season AK went with a 433/4141 with Watson as the anchor so it's hardly untried.

Forest. Byram. Clubs sorting out loan. West Ham would like a new player in first for their defence. But big chance Byram move goes through to Forest.

So used to writing in those tiny column pieces, do you think he speaks like that?
