    Default Free kick specialists

So we're signing an armada of nippy fuckers who have showreels which feature them dancing round opponents and skinning them up the wing. A positive translation of such ability to the Championship is that they'll get kicked over and clattered and we might get a decent number of free kicks. Who've we got that'll put those away? Reid was our last decent dead-ball specialist and McGugan before him. I'd like to know who our man will be next season, if he's already here.

Ben Osborn has a lovely trick Free Kick on him.

„I believe in socialism because it seems more humanitarian, rather than every man for himself and 'I'm alright jack' and all those arsehole businessmen with all the loot. I made up my mind from viewing society from that angle. That's where I'm from and there's where I've made my decisions from. That's why I believe in socialism“

Did Reid score many? Genuinely cant remember him scoring many, Cohen was always decent at whipping dangerous ball into the box that often went in.

No matter who is taking them, people will complain.

People watch MOTD/Highlights and think some players score all the time, or put balls in great areas every time, they don't.

People used to moan about McGugan's free kicks, and Reid's, and Lansbury's, and Osborn's...

It's more about who's in the box and working on stuff. People pulling off and heading it back across box, clever movement and blocking.

Or Steve Hodge knocking the end two of their wall over. Often wondered how we got away with that. And it was 'often' too.

Funnily enough my 6 year old requested to see Stuart Pearce videos on YouTube last night (not sure where he got the idea) and we watched this, with the classic Pearce dead ball scorchers:

    Nice one Fawazzock.

That last one, FA Cup final, I calculate the ball was traveling at approx 68mph. (20 yards in 0.6 secs)

If the net hadn't stopped it, it would have travelled 16,083,360 miles by now. That's 645.9 times around the earth.

    "Just saying". lol.

Actually, I don't know whether that fact makes me feel happy or old. Jesus... 27 years ago?? Seems like only 26.
