The data confirms that the region is losing out in terms of public expenditure. Of
particular concern are the comparable low levels of infrastructure and economic
development funding – with an obvious implication for future rates of local and
regional economic growth. The recent trend has worsened rather than
improved. In summary, Government statistics demonstrate that in 2015-16, the
    East Midlands has:
 The lowest level of public expenditure on ‘economic affairs’.
 The lowest level of public expenditure on transport, in total and per head.
 The lowest level of public expenditure on rail per head.
 The 3rd lowest on health care.
 The 3rd lowest on education.
 The 3rd lowest total of public expenditure on services, in total and per head.
 Total UK public expenditure per head indexed (UK = 100); the East Midlands
    = 91, North East = 104, North West = 103.

As for the other point, I can't really think of anything synonymous with the East Midlands as a region that gives us an identity. I'm open to suggestions though!

Poor old Joao looks depressed already. Give it a year at least.

Am I right in thinking that, of the two new lads, this one is rated a little less than the other (only based on reported fees)? Obviously they'll both be key figures this season, how did they link together at Benfica B? Do we reckon they'll be deployed in a similar role at Forest?

Both can play anywhere behind the striker, but Carvalho was usually deployed more centrally by Benfica. Plenty of options for AK.

Having looked at a Benfica forum, the opinion seems mixed as to who is the better prospect of the two. Carvalho is generally in the middle though, with Diogo off the left.
