Saw Carvalho hobbling on crutches gingerly past my office in west b today and he does not look like a man anywhere near a return anytime soon!

In Athens apparently, to take profit of our rehabilitation team. Last season, they must have done something right, since players returned from injuries in record time. Many of them publicly thanked them for the great work they did.

There are rumours that some of our medical staff will permanently move to Nottingham in the near future.

As long as you give him back, that's good news.

Club ties seem to be growing stronger day by day

If we're ready to be a Prem club we'll cope.

At least it happened as early as possible so we've time to adapt.

Stick my neck out & suggest Silva will minimise the disruption. Looks a good player, I think hes got What JCs got, with a bit of an edge to him that may make it easier to adapt.

We'll still have every armchair pundit blaming every defeat, draw or poor performance on his absence.

Oughtn't we to have broken the club's transfer record for Silva in that case?

By "relegation battle", do you mean 7th, 12th or 14th?

Depends: was there a bung on one transfer and not on the other?

Worrying that there is still no news on him. Not sure we will see him for a while. Luckily we seem to be well stocked for midfielders at the moment. There was a period vs Crystal Palace where Grabban, Lolley, Ameobi and Appiah were all on the pitch, and Appiah was playing central behind the front 3. I wonder whether Lamouchi is considering playing him there while Carv is out, assuming we see no new faces in attacking midfield.

Alf said he's out until Christmas. And Alf never exaggerates to prove an argument.

In fact, he quite clearly states that the club were short sighted and should have foreseen the injury before buying him

Have I? Swear I said that hypothetically.

What's next, you gonna quote my "Nigel Clough takes over" as a genuine claim?

They kept saying Reid was 6 weeks away, and Dawson was back in training.

Well no, Alf said its not the greatest plan to put the majority of your transfer budget in 1 player when the whole sqaud needs overhauling, especially one who isnt worth 13m but "might be". For the record i agree, Carvalho is a good player but if we lose him for any length of time we have severly hampered ourselves in the long run.

This club should never invest so much in potential at the cost of other areas in the side. We are not in a position to.

He may be a superbly talented kid, but this injury is highlighting how desperate we are for some of those funds to be spread around the side instead of invested all into 1 player

Just reading how it was written.
