That looks like you've gone for a carvery and brought the OAP plate.

Toast unless they are really fresh, loads of butter whatever.

Tonight we will be sitting down to slow-cooked gammon joint (cooked in pineapple, sherry and orange juice to keep it moist), with savoy cabbage braised in white wine with crumbled bacon, carrots and I am giving some spicy baked potatoes a go.
The spicy baked potatoes are prepared as follows:
Put a large baking potato onto a skewer.
With a sharp knife, starting at one end of the potato, cut deeply at a slight angle, not quite to the skewer, and then spin the potato so that the knife cuts a spiral along the length of the spud.
Melt butter and apply liberally to the potato with a pastry brush.
In a bowl mix your own favourite blend of spices (I'll be using garam masala, coriander, cumin, hot chilli powder, cinammon, & ginger).
Mix well and sprinkle over the buttered, spiral cut potato (still on its skewer).
Preheat the over to 200 C (gas mark 6/7) and place the spiced, buttered potato (still on its skewer) into the oven for about an hour or so.
When cooked, remove from the oven, carefully withdraw the skewer and serve.
There is a local lady who has a Facebook page called 'The Riad Supper Club'.
She normally hosts small dinner parties at her home, serving Moroccan and Middle Eastern dishes.
With the lock-down she has been putting some excellent recipes on her FB page.

Found a few spuds I missed digging the garden. A few leeks overwintered so it's leek and potato soup for tea with a freshly baked home made loaf.

A waffle, half a tin of baked beans and two Richmond sausages. It’s like being in the 1980’s again.

The Country Victualler delivered our meat order this morning, so tonight I shall be preparing a Sinister Special: Chilli Con Carne with wild Basmati rice and taco-shells.
