Not had a Chinese takeaway for years, it’s one of them meals I want but regret eating once I’ve had it.

    This weekend's kitchen adventures:-

    Friday:-

Smoked Basa Gratin - It was actually supposed to be a smoked haddock gratin, but Sainsbury's had an empty shelf of haddock, so went with the alternative and it was still delicious, served with salt and pepper roasted new potatoes.

    Saturday:-

Cauliflower, Paneer & Pea curry. A very tomato-ey curry this one, I'd have preferred a bit more spice to liven it up, would probably put a couple of extra chillis in next time I make it.

    Sunday:-

Bobotie with yellow rice. Traditional South African dish, bares similarities to both curried mince and moussaka. Personally I love it.

Whats the recipe for the Bobotie? Will have to make it for the inlaws and see if they recognize it.

Here you go, it's not entirely authentic (thanks to the presence of Madras Curry Paste and Mango Chutney), but it's a decent approximation with ingredients that are readily available in the UK.
    Bobotie recipe

It’s Shepherds pie with rice instead of mash

It wasn’t a takeaway it was eat in

I always find Chinese fills me up really quick but as soon as I fart I’m hungry again

„I believe in socialism because it seems more humanitarian, rather than every man for himself and 'I'm alright jack' and all those arsehole businessmen with all the loot. I made up my mind from viewing society from that angle. That's where I'm from and there's where I've made my decisions from. That's why I believe in socialism“

    Maybe you’d prefer this:

This is a monument in Stuttgart that all VfB Mitglieder contributed to (including this poster) as a statement, reminding all members about the political events of 1932 and the persecution of Jews that followed from 1933 onwards, and about the continuing principles that the club stands against - antisemitism, racism and discrimination - and what the club stands for - diversity, tolerance and democracy.

And remember, this was a club who were forced to rename their stadium as the Adolf-Hitler-Kampfbahn, by the Nazi government, in 1933.

They should’ve invited Jeremy Corbyn to the unveiling ceremony

Well, between Hitler, Nazi Monuments and Jezza, I've been put right off my food.
