Once went to a chippy in Moss side Manchester and the Chippy had a massive riot screen up and served you chips through a small hatch , It was a chippy not a bank ffs , You soon realise you need to get the hell out of there.

Rough as fuck wasn’t it Moss Side. Went to Maine Road in the 80’s and that was the first time I saw cctv cameras on lampposts and razor wire on garden walls.

I worked with a bloke from Moss Side who used to say "That Clifton, it's a bit fucking rough round there kid".
It used to drive the lad from Clifton round the fucking twist.

Went to maine road in mates car and parked near the ground. 2 snotty kids appeared, "a quid to look after your car." Gave them a quid. "No. A quid each." "Fuck off". Came back to the car and the cnuts had put the qarter light in!

My missus lived in Manchester for about 4 years, she still has family there. Not right in moss side but very close. Saffron Lane to moss side. I never argue with her much.

A common trick at all the big city clubs, apparently.

That was the beginning of Man City’s mob ‘the Guvnors’, minding cars. Mickey Francis’ book is a good read if you remember them days.

    Oh yeah!

Made the dumplings with grated cold butter, rather than suet and they were well nice. Loads of root veg, loads of herbs, tomato puree and Worcestershire sauce.

Oh and shallots, mostly whole or halved if big.

Donít. Itís a dump, and the weather is terrible.

ĄI believe in socialism because it seems more humanitarian, rather than every man for himself and 'I'm alright jack' and all those arsehole businessmen with all the loot. I made up my mind from viewing society from that angle. That's where I'm from and there's where I've made my decisions from. That's why I believe in socialismď

I've been a few times (including last Saturday) and liked it every time.

It has rained every time though.

You want to move to Liverpool.

Much better city all round but with easy access to Manchester.

Anfield is a dump. There's no mistaking that. A real shame for the residents and community of the area, many of who try their hardest to get it improved.

You know, he’s not a bad lad our Tiff, despite what you all say about him. Tried his simmering method with baked beans and it worked a treat...
