Wonder if they will both be loan to buy deals again?

Karanka used to be a client of Mendez by the way, it’s how he got the Boro job to begin with.

Both players seem on their way up. First year in the first team and their market price is very high. I'd be surprised if you're getting both. Maybe part of a larger deal with Mendes or Wolves?

Nice field vision and lovely angled passes, but as you certainly know better than me, videos of young players from the second team are no guarantee of performance in the first team.

Exactly right lads. I guess the balance needs to be found trusting their attitude and skill set that once adjusted can do the above along with making sure you have your Lolley's , Cash's , Tomlin's, Osborn's I suppose.

A Bola and The Record are not ruling out sales which is interesting considering they say Benfica and Forest have made agreements and they at an advanced stage.

From memory A Bola have almost always been spot on.

Mendes will almost certainly be involved it seems, it's what the intentions are... Do Wolves want one of our better talents so we get a couple of Benfica lads to soften the blow? Or does Mendes want them tested in the Championship before they go and play for Wolves in the Premier League next season? Or has Vrentzos seen how Wolves did it and thought we'll have a bit of that. Could be a number of reasons behind it.

Well don't forget this isn't the first time we've gone this route with Hildeberto Pereira and Tobias Figueiredo of which the last one is still here and very much part of us pushing for the Premier League.

    Marinakis and Vrentzos have connections.

Also take Benfica for example. They have had Greek players Samaris and Mitroglu too. So there seems there are relationships.

It could just be as simple as using contacts, we've clearly built a few relationships in Portugal since the takeover but for both of them to just come out of nowhere like this and both be Mendes clients does make you wonder.

Just seen this from a Benfica fan on Twitter:

"Hildeberto - Average player, even in the academy.

Diogo and J. Carvalho - Most promising youth players coming out from the academy right now."

Yeah this is different level mate. These two were promoted to the first team last season which Hildeberto wasn't close to doing.

    On their forum.

They say they are stacked with ACM talents so can understand Carvalho but they feel with a proper coach Diogo could contribute and they worried it will be another Goncalo Guedes situation.

Seems strange they would let them go, but you could say the same about half of Porto's team going to Wolves, and Helder Costa & Cavaleiro from Benfica in particular.

But that's assuming they aren't loan deals, logically they are probably loans.

Loans, two-year loans, loans with a manageable buying option, a buy with a reasonable price but with Benfica retaining the lion's share in the next sell, a buy with a buy-back fixed price, there's a whole world of grey areas.

I agree. Loans are probably more likely but how great would it be if we invested in talent like this.

Currently their ACMs are Pizzi, Zivkovic, Rafa Silva & Krovinovic and supposedly their next two hottest talents are Gedson Fernandes (99) & Joao Felix (99) and are also through the middle. Zivkovic is in the Serbia WC squad.

Their wide attacking options are less in number. Argentinians Eduardo Salvio & Franco Cervi and the former is in their WC squad. American Keaton Parks (97) was used ahead of Goncalves on the last day of the season as the sub. If Goncalves leaves then Englishman Chris Willock (98) will more than likely be promoted.

But this seems like Benfica also aren't happy with the decisions their coach made this season.

The model worked very, very well for Wolves and for the players involved last year.

I said this in another thread - the championship is going to become a proving ground for international players to prove their credentials for the Prem. It’s encouraging to see we’re ahead of the curve here, especially with our European links through Marinakis

Both have excellent technique. Imagine how much they’d cost if they were English creative attacking players... Players like this represent so much better value.

There’s a risk to any signing, and with these two the main one will be if they can adapt to English football. Coming to play for an Iberian manager should help.

It only takes a second to score a goal.
