I aint arsed to find it but it was broadly discussed on here at the time. Im sure someone will happily confirm it.

You may find it in the dougal appreciation thread if you want to find it yourself.

I do take your point that - in isolation - stats can be used to manipulate opinion.

It clearly is true. The problem is we had the worst defensive record so those goals weren't enough to propel us above midtable.
Denying we were more free scoring then is equally as ridiculous as insisting we're not more defensively solid now.

Fair enough Cortez, I didn't know any context to it because I don't bother with this "debate" anymore, just popped my head through the door.

I know, mate. Even I'm sick of these endless loops. Hopefully next year we'll have a season that will put all these ageless debates to bed - Warburton, Billy, SOD, Dougie, Pearce, etc - because we'll have a new chapter of success to enjoy.

That's a little too close to McLaren for my liking.

The original debate started the day AK was appointed and people decided they didn't want him.

There seems to have been very little movement on that no matter what people claim.

It's very simple. Some people didn't want Warburton sacked, and as a result have struggled to accept his replacement and have been trying to prove that Warburton was superior to Karanka despite both managers having very similar records.

Which is fine, knock yourselves out. But it does seem to me rather pointless as Warburton won't be coming back.

Like I said above, it will all get put to bed if we have a promotion season.

Perhaps might make people think a bit more when the inevitable Karanka out debate starts in November then?

No, who am I kidding, the annual ritual must go on.

It’s a bit like moping for years when your girlfriend leaves you for Robert Downey Jr.

    Get over it.
