True. But that won't be at a Champ managers pay grade level.

Put it this way, I think that the claim of "he won't be out of work long" is proving to be false. I personally think he's gonna prove to be too big a gamble to take. Time will tell.

He sits next to Billy on the park feeding he ducks every morning.

The same can be said for your Billy. Too big a gamble for most, and I dont mean on the financial front.

Looks like he's close to joining Birmingham.

"Won't struggle to get a job" was the quote when he left us.

    How longs it been?

    Hope their cheque books ready.

It’s a mere blink of an eye in Billy Davies time

Whilst I wouldn't swap him for Sabri, I still think he's a decent manager. Birmingham though? Not sure why any manager worth their salt would want to go there, they're crap and haven't got a pot to piss in.

Not awful, but hardly in demand as was implied at the time.

As others have shown, they've already likened that time to Billy Davies, so to me that suggests it's a fair amount of time out.

They did just get £20m for Bellingham though and coming off an embargo? Perhaps they'll have a bit more of a budget next season.

Not sure what the average is to be honest. I'm guessing Warburton was similar before he went to QPR, Montanier again similar before he went to Lens.

I just assumed the Bellingham money would go into shoring up their finances, but if a decent chunk of that money is available to spend then him taking the job would make a lot more sense.

His first signing, Carvalho for 20 Million.

He will. He'll probably get them promoted in a couple of years if they can give him £60m to spend and he doesn't throw his teddy out before he's done.

Spunked thirteen mil of our money on someone who can't even get on our bench, threw a massive strop when questioned and fucked off when the going got even remotely tough

    Yeah, great manager!

    Good luck Birmingham

You can't fully put the Carvalho signing on Karanka. Anyway as I said in another thread I'm surprised Birmingham appears to be his next destination as they seem a basket case club and I have it on good authority very interfering owner(s). He will get results but I expect a relationship breakdown and him walking out within months.

Although I'll be sad to see him on Birminghams touchline, he's better than that, good luck to him.

    Did a top job here.

Be interesting to see how Birmingham and QPR do next season. Both are roughly in the same place with mediocre squads and limited budgets. Might actually have an apples vs apples comparison between the two ex-Forest managers to final end the ongoing debate.

    Or maybe not.

Is Karanka a better manager than Warburton?

I’d be interested to know everyone’s opinion about this

I think it's fair to question whether Carva was his call or not with the Mendez connection, and general way in which EM likes to waste money on agent hyped trash.

On reflection AK made some great signings which are playing an absolutely massive part in our season this year. Grabban, Lolley, Watson, Dawson.....got to give him credit where it's due

A cheque book manager, but good at what he does. The big problem was, as usual, the top brass' naivety at not recognising that, and thinking 1 big spend in 1 window was all it would take.
