Default At what age is it acceptable to wear a flat cap?

Noticed they have been in for a while with all ages, but it's fine line between looking distinguished or looking like a cvnt.

I've worn em for about three years on and off, in my late forties, mine are the waxed type Belstaff and Barbour. If I wear a baseball cap I look like a vintage chav/shoplifter/heroin addict, so I moved on.

    Onions?

And if you wear one, what do you wear?

I couldn't wear one because my old man always wore one and he was well old!
Beanies or a Kangol when the sun is out for me.

Before I learnt to drive a bloke from work used to take me fishing, he always wore a tatty flat cap on the bankside. At the time he seemed to be of an age to wear one, thinking about it now, he must have been younger then than I am now, but I wouldn't dream of wearing one.

I saw a kid a few weeks ago who couldn't have been more than 12 with one on.

The top of my head is flat enough without a flat cap adding to it

This seems to be 'the look' nowadays doesn't it? Some people like to add black thick rimmed glasses.

Never really appealed to me but the young ones are all doing it. I've got a beard but it's more of a Jack Whitehall stubble beard than a bushy effort.

I think that's more of a baker boy cap but yeah, all the same thing.

There is that fear of falling into the hipster image, but my beard is more Peter Hook and purely to hide the double chin

    Baseball cap for me.

Iím neither old enough, or a member of the Peaky Blinders, so I canít carry off a flat cap.

Although they do seem popular in Germany, and not just with the hipster crowd (yes, we have them too).

I wore mine to Hull last week , it's a traditional wool type , Not had it long , still a little unsure , it doesn't keep my bald head warm enough when on the reserve so have to have a Benny hat instead Age 43

Any age is acceptable as long as you can shout "gerrit fowwad!" convincingly

Remember those football flat caps from the 80s and 90s? Can't find a picture of one on its own, so you'll have to make do with this picture of some blokes wearing them.

    Are they still a thing?

Flat caps on under 30s look far better than baseball caps on the the over 30s.

Baseball caps make you bald. Oops, that ship has sailed.

I wear a Duncan Goodhew style swimming cap and pretend to be bald.
