Looks like the midfielder we have been missing. Bite and experience in the middle doing the simple things that the rest of the team can work from. If Ben Watson does Come in I can see him filling a similar role. Hopefully will mean we won't look so light weight in the middle of the park now.

I think 'odd' is a good thing. Oddness shows originality, uniqueness and a desire to be different from the masses. Oddness is, maybe, only deemed 'odd' by the majority who are considered less odd but only by their own blinkered observations and understanding. Oddness should never be criticised but be encouraged to nurture, develop individualism and to explore the mind rather than conform to expectation and 'normality'. Many of the world's greatest works of art and prose were born from those minds many considered to be 'odd'.

    You're obsessed!

By "relegation battle", do you mean 7th, 12th or 14th?

I think what we got from Jack Colback yesterday far exceeded what you could expect from a debutant loanee.

Seriously good in application & execution.

Agreed. Positional sense will really help the Karanka shut out game too. Thought he might come in to play left back but can't see it anymore, first choice centre midfield with Ben Watson.

That's gonna be the biggest difference right there.

Hopefully Tomlin will be the solution going forward.

This is the only signing that was of the quality needed IMO

    The rest are just...

I'm wondering if we might go for Osborn at left-back now over Fox. Or Lichaj at left-back and Matty Cash at right-back.

It's going to be difficult to find a place for everyone when fully fit.

Very impressive debut from Colback at Fulham. Could be just like a younger version of Vaughan when he was tearing it up for Blackpool.

I certainly hope not, hopefully they can sort that Garrido out or whatever his name is. Then everything sorts itself out assuming Garrido can play a bit

That’s what we what. Two serious contenders for every position.

Fox will likely stay there until a bona fide LB comes in. I thought Fox played ok against Fulham, I dont see Karanka making a knee jerk decision there.

Osborn & Cash are in forward positions predominantly for there workrate at present, thought we were much more competitive with second balls Saturday.

    Playing players out of position?

    Have we tried that before

Bloody Psycho, he set the bar so high that we are forever looking for a replacement for his overwhelming ability in that position. Rarely does anyone come up anywhere near that mark.

I'd be surprised if AK compromised Colback's indispensable midfield qualities because he's able to fill-in at left-back.

Obviously nowhere near the same level but I was a big fan of Julian Bennett, his passionate displays and 100 percent commitment.

If he hadn't had such a bad time with injuries he'd have gone on to have a much better career with us.

One of my all time favourites. Heart of a lion and maybe a tad underrated as a quality footballer. Definitely would only have got better if not for his injures
