I guess the main target was the Pole from Roma, when they turned us down Pantilimon on loan was the second option.

Prefer to have this guy on loan than spend £4m on a keeper!

As Chris said on the other thread, suddenly the spine of the team is looking a whole lot more solid.

It only takes a second to score a goal.

Smith still has a lot to learn. His kicking hasn’t improved and he is very quiet. Hopefully, this guy has a more commanding presence. At 6’8” he ought to!

Costel - his first name means in my language "church" (as a building). So no worry - we can await clean sheet in every match with the CHURCH in Forest goal.

I have no idea why you expect him to start ahead of Smith. It sounds like a reliable bencher to me.

smith lacks of defense guidance and passing skills as far as i have seen. so if this guy can deliver this, he will definitely be a starter. furthermore, competition will do good to Smith

Keeper with quality kicking skills is te basis of success. Look at Man City or Bayern. Goalkeeping today is not only catching balls.

Backed Smith all season, but coming round to the idea he might have to make way for Pantilimon. Smiths kicking against Preston was as bad as its been, then theres the slight lack of authority.

Assuming Pantilimon collects everything he comes for, that might help at set pieces.

Tough on Smith, he's made some big saves, least now we have adequate cover either way.

Plus he's massive, Fulham are good at getting down the wings this season, they've just signed that big lump Mitrovic on loan and we've been crap at defending crosses for the most part this season, so you've got to think they'll be looking for his head. Hopefully Pantilimon can cut a few of those crosses out, he must have a reach of about 10 foot when jumping with his arms up.
