Maybe some investment in rehabilitation infrastructure and medical personnel is in order.
Would imagine that will come with the new academy facilities ?

Think Britt also went to Dubai for his knee issues.

There's a specialized centre in Dubai, where even players from the top clubs go, so perhaps my argument is not strenghtened by the Soudani example. But if it was judged by your medical team that it would be better for Figuereido to come over here, then there are things missing over there. I mean, OK, we have excellent rehabilitation facilities, but you're a club aiming for promotion to the Premier, so there is some urgency in your being medically ready for it.

    Agree.

I think our academy facilities are decent. It just lacks space and investment now to have everything to be amongst the elite. It is why the plans are to move the academy totally. I heard quite some time a go like the stadium that it was approved but look how long it took for the official announcement on the stadium.

Hoping we hear more soon on the academy facilities. Derby's facilities are top and Leicester are planning a new state of the art one. We can't let these two be ahead of us in their work place preparing us for Saturday's. Not that ours is bad but what goes into being elite is something else these days. You of course know it being Olympiakos and being Champions League competitor.

I remember an interview of players of ours a couple of years ago swearing that a new set of pools (with iced water and some special pebbles or something, I don't quite remember) slashed their rehabilitation time after injury in half. These things look a silly expenditure at first, but then you read that Cristiano Ronaldo spent hours after every match in an iced water pool and you realize that it's a cost worth undertaking.

I’m surprised to hear that Ronaldo is being sued for sexual misdemeanours if he spends three hours a day in an ice water pool.

    Unless it’s a rebound effect.

Wasn't at the game but he made his come back yesterday for the 23s and played 60 minutes.

Who knows what will happen with injuries so good to have CB options again.

Good player, for me he’s a starter alongside Benalouane once he’s fit

A mate who was in the Academy says that Assombalonga hated the Forest pitches.
Britt claimed that they really took it out on his calves.
That is the reason why, on his return from his terrible knee injury, he cut his socks up the back - to give his calves room and freedom to swell as the game wore on.

I though his leg was completely dead and all his blood had clotted?

Wonder what he blames for his form at Boro'?

I don't think he has bounced back from his injury. I thought he was a very good player, but the worry if he will ever return to his high standards is legitimate.

I hope so. Behind Milo, he's our best CB.

I agree. Those two should be our first choice centre back pairing for me.

Figueiredo is a good option at DC - comfortable on the ball and tough, despite being a little foul prone against top opposition.

We’re so well stocked at the centre of defence, I can’t see us hanging on to all of them. Presumably Dawson’s last season?

We’re so well stocked it’s not clear who are best pairing is.

    Agreed.

Would feel very happy going into the season with these 2. Obviously slight concerns about Figgy's injury record and the need for a left footer but with the options we have I am slight surprised were looking to spend our resources here.

I wonder if the photos on the official website mean something for the future of Tobias. The first team has been updated with photographs with the new shirt and sponsor for most players. The exceptions are:
    a) Bomb squad (Benalouane, Hefele, Guedioura, Bridcutt, Ariyibi, Murphy, Cummings, Clough)
    b) Recent arrivals (Chema, Bostock, Sow)
    c) two injured players (Carvalho and Yates)
    d) Richardson
    e) Figueiredo, who, as far as I know, trains with the team regularly.

Could he be on his way out, perhaps sold back to Portugal or elsewhere? I always thought he is one of your best defenders, but there may be concerns about his fitness and/or health. I don't think he ever regained form after his injury. And you have simply too many CBs. At least two and preferably three must go.

I believe the current official line is that he is in Portugal dealing with a personal issue.

That's actually a phrase which can hide a multitude of sins though. Peterborough United rolled out the 'away from the club for personal reasons' excuse for months in regards to Josh Yorwerth.
