I must be the only person in both countries who believes that this is still on track. Hult lost his first court case, he took them to court again as predicted, and now his agent is negotiating with a number of teams. According to the Greek press, the most likely candidates are Bröndby in Denmark, Utrecht in the Netherlands, and AEK in Greece. You are not even mentioned in the latest reports.

This makes no sense to me. AEK are certainly not going to pay money for Hult, Bröndby have much less money than you do, so that leaves Utrecht. Moreover, I find it impossible to believe that either the player or Panathinaikos will risk letting the transfer window go by without striking a deal: that would mean the player would remain in limbo for six months (or be forced to go back to Sweden for peanuts) and Panathinaikos would get nothing (neither money nor the player).

The fact that not a single alternative for Forest has appeared in the press in the most urgent position where you need someone makes me think that this case has not been abandoned.

You are underestimating Forest. We went years without a proper left back.

And I was wrong. He is going to AEK, with less money than you were offering (200K euros to Panathinaikos, and only 350K a year to the player).

My rationale was correct, but I didn't have all the data: according to the Greek press, the deal with Forest was agreed, but Karanka decided he did not want him.

That's a shame, I hope we have another left back lined up because I never want to see Fox or Traore in a Forest shirt again.

Unless we get a left back today, we're sailing into dangerous waters.

If Karanka decided he didn't want him then hopefully there is another LB lined up, Traore dropping out of the squad altogether last night coupled with Fox's revert to type over the last couple of games doesn't bode well for the next few months.

And the ship is being menaced by sharks.

We really need a left back if Hult is going somewhere else.

I am sure there is one in the Portuguese second division available and ready.

In that case, step forward Alex Iacovitti.

Has AK ever played much without fullbacks?

Not to my knowledge, I'm surprised there's been no rumours yet unless Otis is right and Karanka has seen enough of Iacovitti to think he can do the job.

Karanka signed George friend and he was decent for Boro. I'm sure AK will get a decent lb
