We are 'reportedly' interest in taking 21 year old Chelsea youngster Charly Musonda, an attacking midfielder with 26 appearances to his name (24 of them in Spain)who stands at a whopping 5ft 8in ....
They aren’t the only things we need and musonda won’t be the only person we are interested in

I would imagine the priorities are still the same - keeper, centre back, left back, Midfielder, attacker.

Maybe this guy was the insurance policy if Dowell was recalled.

Either way we will do well to get him if those other PL clubs are interested in taking him.

I'd be interested to know how folk would feel if we sold someone like Brereton.

Just to confirm, Billy is the one directly to the left of Charly, not the one in the foreground doing the Hitler moustache gesture. Thanks.

We'll have the same debate on here we have everytime a promising young player is sold. It won't change the reality that we will always be a selling club and ambitious players will want to move on and better themselves.

Do you think the reality of the situation is that fans will accept it happily?

He mostly plays on the wing, we need at least one more winger.

It will be like when Burke was sold, when Lascelles and Darlow were sold, when Bamford was sold etc etc etc.

Fans are never happy when our best young players get sold, but it doesn't change the reality that this will continue to happen.

We should be thankful that we produce so many.

Well, yeah I get that. I just find it ironic that after all the bitching and moaning on here about who we have been linked with, this is one of the first ones and he is exactly the same type of player Warburton was targeting. Ah well at least he isn't Scottish.

I disagree, if you are playing a 3 behind the main striker we have McKay, Osborn, Carayol, Cash, Ward, Dowell, Clough, Brereton, Walker and Cummings who have all played there this season.

McKay, Carayol and Ward are the only ones who fit there, as wingers, the others are strikers or centre mids put there becayse of injuries, lack of form or the shitness of others

Not entirely true though is it? The three behind a main striker don't play as traditional wingers, they come off the wings and interchange positions, much like Musonda does.

To be honest, I'm struggling to see the point of any loan signings in this window unless they were with a view to a permanent deal in the summer -- which Musonda would surely not be. No loanee is likely to propel us into the play-offs, and the current squad is good enough to avoid relegation with some comfort. Would Karanka's time not be better spent getting to know our own youngsters?

Dont think we've given up on promotion just yet

If Musonda comes in he will come in as a right winger not an insurance policy or backup.

And when you look at it, the only right sided player we have is Ward and he hasn't played all season.

It depends on a lot of factors, but Karanka at Boro liked at least one fast direct traditional winger. Of which Carayol is probably the only one who fits and his quality is questionable.

    http://www.worldfootball.net/teams/m...ugh-fc/2016/2/ suggests otherwise.

Adomah is as much as a winger as Walker and Brereton are.

I strongly disagree, but I know a lot of these player interpretations come down to what you see personally and so perhaps you right.

For me, Musonda adds a lot of what Adomah added.
