Default Peter Beardsley in bullying & racism scandal

England & Newcastle legend PB stepped down as U-23's coach today until club investigation is concluded
This is a strange one - Beardsley is around 5' 8" so cant see him physically bullying anyone, and a player is claiming racism because he didn't get elevated to first team. If this kid was a great player and everyone in the clud is singing his praises, but only Beardsley is holding him back, then maybe. Perhaps the player just wasn't good enough and is using racism as the reason? Happens a lot in sports & society in general.

Beardlsey has taken a lot of flack for his diminutive statue and gormless 'fly-catcher' mug, so you would think he would be sensitive to judgemental behaviour and bullying.

There should be no place for bullying & racism in any business...in sports even less, so lets hope NUFC do a transparent & thorough investigation & this football legend is exonerated

Bullying can mean lots of things - it probably isn't because he's beating the U23's up.

It's the same as the whole kiddy fiddling saga, just in a different and less severe way - but that's bullying too, really.

Default Peter Beardsley in bullying & racism scandal

Beardsley’s got previous in this regard though.

It’s the reason James Beaumont and Ross Gardner joined us a few years back, and it was widely reported at the time.

He was removed from his post last time I believe.

I’m not a fan of “no smoke without fire” but that’s three players over two separate stints now that have accused Beardsley of bullying. Can’t comment on the racism claims, but it looks like he has a certain style that is perhaps not acceptable.

The fact that he was a good player should have nothing to do with it.

That's not bullying it's resilience training.

I walk around like everything is fine but deep down, in my shoe, my sock is sliding off.
