with the Stags being at their own place Fortress Field Mill this has to tip it in the Stags favour

Remember when they played liverpool on the telly, suarez blatantly cheated, pushed the ball in with his arm, and really crap referee, stags should of had 3 penalties, mark my words they won't let city off the hook!

Is that the side that doesn't have a stand at all now? I wondered how they fitted anything in there, did they shift the pitch over?

No that is the Bishop Street Stand, it used to have something like 200 covered seats in the middle and terracing either side.

The North Stand was a covered terrace behind the goal where the away fans are now seated. A bit like the old Trent End.

Thanks Bryn, fascinating to see how grounds were before I saw the 'modern' version. I have fond memories of the One Call Stadium, one of the chaps cooking in the sports bar kindly let me into the ground for a good look around.

I remember standing on a big terrace all alone, like that one bloke, at Norwich when they were down in the dumps. Look at them now.

I like looking at old grounds as well. The character that is sometimes a result of their surroundings and community has largely been lost with modern builds.

A few more pics of the other stands on here

A few interesting bits; the old West Stand was purchased from Hurst Park, a disused racecourse in Surrey by the Supporters club in the 1960's. The John Sankey clock above the old North Stand was years later spotted broken in a skip and was restored. It's now on the Bishop Street Stand.

Same here matey, love looking at pic of old grounds. Plenty of character and the surrounding areas too. I was lucky to have visited a few back in the 1960s and 70s.

I agree about the character which developed as they were 'bent' and squeezed into the local area. So many are odd shaped or not uniform because (as with the Hurst Park grandstand) the grounds were built up piecemeal.

Shame that the corporate demands of the present day mean soulless bowls built to accommodate function rooms etc. Necessary, I suppose, but it would be nice if architects could come up with something a bit more interesting which didn't cost the earth.

Has anything been said about Hull tickets? I've had a look but can't find anything.

I walk around like everything is fine but deep down, in my shoe, my sock is sliding off.

I'm off to watch Stags v Cardiff later, the weather has turned as unpleasant as the town itself. It's also sold out so the evening should test the Cardiff players on the whole.
