Default Matchday 15: Reading vs Nottingham Forest

    Reading vs Nottingham Forest

    Date: Tuesday 31 October
    Location: Madejski Stadium, Reading
    Kick off: 20.00

Forest head to the Madejski Stadium for a midweek clash against the Royals, eager for a second away win in a row, and buoyed by the fact that Reading enter the match off the back off a home defeat at the hands of Middlesbrough.

The two sides haven't met that many times, Reading have the better of Forest winning 19 matches to our 14.

However Reading have been on somewhat of a downward trajectory in recent years, struggling to cope with life in the Championship. Mark Warburton's men will hope they can make it a second away win in a row by conquering the Royals and heading away from Berkshire with three points

    Form:

    Reading: L L W L D
    Nottingham Forest: W W L W L

    Recent meetings:

    Team styles:

    Did you know?

    • According to an urban myth, Reading are the only team who do not have to wear an away kit when playing away due to their status as the flagship team of the Royal county. In practice they don't enforce the rule, assuming it exists at all

    • Reading actually list their fans among their players. Each season since 2001 the squad number 13 has been issued to "Reading Fans"

    • Before adopting thier current nickname, "The Royals", Reading were known as "The Biscuitmen" due to the town's association with Huntley and Palmers

    • Reading have lost the two highest scoring matches in the history of the Premier League; Portsmouth 7-4 Reading in September 2007 and Tottenham Hotspur 6-4 Reading in December 2007. They also lost the highest scoring League Cup game - Reading 5-7 Arsenal in October 2012.

Local game for me. Last season was dire but hoping for better this year.

Awful trip for those travelling from Nottingham midweek and I suspect a low away support which is a shame but can see the out of town stadium doesn't make it a great social event.

Another team there for the taking and I expect us to do just that. 2 0 to the Reds

Ironically this is one of our more winnable games.

Two teams with similar styles, one going through a confidence crisis. I reckon we can nick this one too.

    Agree mate.

Stam under pressure. Weird purchasing policy in the summer and the team is all over the place. Lost 0-2 at home to boro today.

We will be able to play through them. Actually hoping Murphy isn't ready again and we have a #9 stretching their defence.

Somtimes in football it can be two steps forward and one step back... it is not easy to to turn things around but first me we are moving in the right direction and I'm happy with the result today and the way things are going around the club in general.

It's a time to feel positive

Always used to do Reading Away as my sister-in-law lived there but no longer as she’s fucked off to Yorkshire. Bah.

    Anyway.

Reading wobbling, Forest on the back of two solid wins.

    Jaap’s Lads 1, Mark’s Mob 2, Cummings with a brace.

    Let’s do this!

I think we will win this as we are on an upwards trajectory but again our wobbly defence will make this harder than it should. Probably 2-1, I would also make sure we play Lichaj I think he has been one important part of our recent success.

Lichaj or Bridcutt need to be made captain one day, they both got the bollocks to be one.

Another Nowheresville club that somehow mooched up the league's and have had a decent side for some time.

I don't know. It's another one of them games, could lose 2-0, could win 3-1.

I'd take a draw especially if we can dispose of QPR.

    COYR!!

Excellently quick. No chance of a gazzumping. We will win this

Why use that example? Did you try sticking sausages up your bum using this logic?

This is a great chance for three-in--row. Reading's open style will really suit us. They're playing broadly the same game as us but we're getting better at it while they're struggling.
    Forest to win 1-2

I think defensively we were very poor in this one.

    Shit ground, no fans.

I bet they sell blue slushy there, and pic n mix.

Went about two years ago and considered following Ice Hockey after the game.

Fucks sake we scored 5 but let in 3. Granted 2 were 30yrd screamers and 1 deflected that wrong footed Smith.

We'll get nowhere till we win every game 3-0 conceding no chances all game
