Default Matchday 13 - Nottingham Forest v Burton Albion

It falls to me again to start off this thread this year. Would be nice if last season's thrilling opener was to be repeated, although with the incoming forecast hurricane it could be a tight and gritty affair.

Both pretty toss at defending and have goal differences to show for it. Burton only scoring 6 goals all season after losing record signing in the pre season fixtures.

    Head to Head

I'm sure someone will kindly add a poll poll.

Was going to find a photo of a decent looking bird in a burton shirt, but they're only for my personal collection.

Thank god it's back to the bread and butter of the league now we have that pesky injury/red card banana skin match out of the way.

I agree, El Cloughieco is neither one thing nor the other these days. It certainly has more importance than an ordinary game, but the once fierce rivalry aint what it was.

I am sure Nigel will have his lads primed for this one, I just hope we are ready also?

Things are looking up with Nigel. I enjoyed his contribution in the EFL rivalry program last week and he has stopped referring to Forest as "them".

He should have never started doing it in the first place if he wanted to keep the goodwill.

Did someone day they haven't conceded in their last 4 away games?

I’m flying in for this, so I expect to see a decent performance and three points for Forest, Murphy and Cummings to score in a nervy 2-1 Win.

    Poll added also.

Oh dear! Another game on the "don't want to lose this one list", although in this nervous season I suppose they are all of this definition. Just appears to me that our games either seem to be against teams going like world-beaters or against teams we really hate losing to.

And I'm on a hopeless run of predictions. So I just hope we play like world-beaters ourselves and stuff this lot with our shy strikers coming out of theirs shells.

For a moment i thought you ment you were landing on the pitch and delivering the match ball.

    Hmmm. I like this idea.

I’ll ring the travel office and see what they can do.

Heading up for this one so hope it's not another bore-fest like last season's fixture!

For the Derby game I posted I was looking for the result to read ‘Derby 0….’. I really thought that after the previous three games and the two week break in which to apply lessons learnt we’d see a more resilient side yesterday.

Well, if we concede at home to a team that’s only scored in four out of twelve games then I will conclude that, when it comes to defensive attributes, our current coaching staff couldn’t organise a piss up back at Burton’s place even if Burton invited them to do so.

‘….Burton Albion 0’, regardless of what figure follows our name.

They'll make it difficult (if not we'll find a way to make it difficult for ourselves), but we have enough about us win by a goal. 1-0 Forest.

When has it been easy for a Forest team against a Nigel Clough team ? Just can't remember it being easy very often.

At the risk of being complacent, Burton aint scored in four, think we go into this one expecting a victory.

We seem to be allergic to a draw however Burton have drawn their last 3 away games 0-0.

Burton have scored 1 away goal in the league all season.

We haven't won a game by more than 1 goal this season.

It's destined for a 1-1, giving us our first draw, continuing their drawing away theme.

Banker for a 1-1 score draw.
There is some steel in the Burton team - not a great deal of creativity, but some resilience.
We at the moment by contrast seem to be pretty powder-puff.

Might be true about the steel, but if we let a goal in to them I'd deem us to be 'ugly powder puff'.
