By "relegation battle", do you mean 7th, 12th or 14th?

Those last few games before he was sacked the second time it was hilarious when Forest were singing 'it is what it is' and 'we are what we are'. I'm sure that got to him a bit.
He must know there was no coming back from that defeat at Derby, ten injuries or not.

Well played Sir. Well played indeed.

He must have laughed afterwards seeing that we got worse!

He'll get back in the game soon enough and he'll no doubt smash it somewhere else. For all the drama, I watched some brilliant football under Billy and I'm just grateful for that after looking at the last 15 years of viewing collectively! It's not happened often!

Yes whatever went before, delivering our biggest ever defeat to Derby was an instantly sackable offence.

That is how the record books will remember him - being responsible for the biggest ever defeat in the East Midlands derby, and producing the worst team in Premier League history.

What about the 2nd leg play-off game against Swansea? was it a smear campaign to pick Tyson and Mc Goldrick instead of Earnshaw and an inform Kris Boyd?

I've read books on quantum mechanics that are easier to understand than that lineup.

And we're back to picking fault with being in the playoffs again

By the "Fans 4 Stability" Leader no less

"Let's build stability.....by picking fault with the best position we've been in for over 10 years!!"

And they say Billy is mental.

Worst team in history still makes me happy, so I will not hold that against him

Why? This is actually a decent discussion about a former Manager that still casts something of a shadow over the club today.

That he's clearly as mad as a box of frogs just adds to the entertainment.

Maybe he heard the news that he was getting sacked regardless of the result.

Yes, but having one thread as a lightning rod saves me weeding all the crap out of every other thread.

Don't click on a thread about Billy Davies then.

I walk around like everything is fine but deep down, in my shoe, my sock is sliding off.

Good example today of why Billy's defensive/grindy philosiphy works better for teams away from home when the players are avaerge/lower champ players.

Force the opposition to rely on basics, master the basics and bring them down to your level.

All for going all out attack when we've the quality which the likes of Clark & Bassette had, but we've not had that this mellenium.

Billy Davies' Forest only managed 4 away wins in his best season at the club (when we finished 3rd). His negative away tactics meant we had plenty of awful 1-0 defeats against the likes of Doncaster, Coventry, Derby etc that ultimately cost us the chance to challenge for the automatic places.

Exactly. You still get to 3rd losing away at the likes of Wendies, and Billy was a God for even bringing the chance of an auto spot into contention

Billys one dimensional away tactics would have lost that one nil.

As soon as they scored his teams were done.
