Decided to start from as early as poss and playing through an old SNES version of FF4 at the mo. Not far in to it, but have to say it's fairly enjoyable so far.
I had a bone graft in my mid-20's and that was the perfect thing to see me through months of being able to do fuck all. Lasted bastard ages, but was just real simple, good fun, & the graft meant I could only use one hand so - wanking aside - it was the second best thing to keep me ticking over with that turn based gameplay.
Yeah. Exactly. It's insane the level of preparation at times to get the right run. I think one of the most weirdest ones is the double text-bubble glitch where if you can get two seperate text boxes on screen the game just has a fit and doesn't know what to do so you can move during that period.
Enjoying the early games far more than the latter one Bangerz. Have finished 4 & thought it was quality. Yeah it's very dated & simplistic, but as far as simple fun games with a story go it was really enjoyable.
So I saw FF15 for the PS4 in the bargain section of the local games shop and grabbed it for £8. What a fucking waste of moneyIt's just awful. Abysmal. A 00's boyband on a roadtrip? WTF?

All you do is walk from point to point for ages, then hold down a button. There's absolutely fuck all story or, well, anything intersting. Played around 3-4 hours then ragged in. Will trade in asap.
A terrible game by anyone's standards. Square Enix have really run out of ideas it seems and FF comes across as little more than a paint-by-numbers job to sell dlc and add-ons etc
But yeh FF4 is great. My personal favourite of the pre-FFVII games is FFVI, so make sure you try that one out if you can.

I'm scarily good on Fortnite and have only played about 15 games. Top 10 13 times.
Worse in a squad, my mates are shite.

Its a defensive game... you only have to kill one person to win.
I just let folk fight it out and pick off the weak
In fact my lads mate got no kills and won on solo as the guy looking for him got caught in the storm and died.

Being badly is at least giving me time to plough through these Harvey.
5 is fucking brilliant. Thrive on the job system.
FFXV ended up being my favourite game I played last year, and one of my faves of the whole series. Also got the Secret of Mana remake for the PS4 at Christmas, so am looking forward to diving into that at some point and seeing how it compares to the original on the SNES.

I'm about an hour into XV, the fishing is hard but I'd love that platinum trophy.
Unless Secret of Mana has been patched expect a shit load of crashes throughout it. I played it, and I lost count pretty quickly how many times an error happened and the game booted me back to the PS4's desktop.
To try to counter this, I presume, they added in an auto-save feature, but make sure you complete everything before leaving certain areas as the auto-save will save over the current file. I got bored of trying to get the final items needed for the final trophies, went to the final boss, and the auto-save locked me into the boss. So when I reloaded that save file I went straight to the final boss and couldn't escape back out to complete what I had missed out on.
Oh no
Been playing these past few months and this week whilst getting the treatment. Observations so far:
FF4 - Mint. Seems dated at first, but soon won me over with it's charm, and a great play.
FF5 - Brilliant, joint fave so far. Job system is awesome.
FF6 - On the list to play, but wanted to fast forward to some of the newer ones and save a retro one for later. Read this is the McDaddy so saving until last.
FF7 - Played years ago. Thrived on it then, but need a replay.
FF8 - Bit shit, but charming. Liked a lot about it, but the actual game itself bored & annoyed me.
FF9 - Forgetable. Lots to like, but nothing grabbed me at all.
FFX - Absolutely love it. Joint fave with 5. Cheesy, innocent fun & the characters are all mint. Something about the purity of the story too which really makes it special.
FFX-2 - Absolute bollocks. Just total "wtf?"
FF12 - Really good in parts, but the exploration areas are just too vast & empty. It's also a bit too much like Star Wars. Enjoyed it, but couldn't be arsed to finish it.
FF13 - Christ, what did they do here? You don't do anything, the game plays itself. Awful.
FF15 - Didn't take to it. Again, too simple - "hold button to win". Tbf I didn't sink much time into it, so might give it another go one day.
By far & away the highlight of the series is the Summons for me. The games which focus on them less are less interesting.
