Add in the fact that we're in the same league as them and they're currently fighting a poor start to the season, and this one seems a bit whimsical.
He's out of contract in the summer and turned down a new deal.

I believe that he is out of contract at the end of this season, so can sign for a new club at Christmas and leave for a free at the end of a season . If Brentford don't sell now they could end with nothing.

Every player at Brentford has a mathematical value. Should we meet that value and their algorithms say there is a replacement, they will sell.

    Thats how Brentford work.

Football is a funny old business.

I don't think it'll happen either but I am certainly not going to rule it out, especially with the stand-off him and the manager are having.

Every player at every club has a price.

And sometimes a Player themselves will force a move.

    Adlene Guedioura comes to mind.

Indeed Chris. And in our case, even more recently with Assombalonga and Antonio.

Expecting any degree of club loyalty from the overwhelming majority of in-demand, modern-day footballers is unwise.

Except in Italy where even if a player wants to move and various clubs have met the valuation, the player may refuse to move because the club they want to move to have only made a 'derisory offer' which has been turned down by the parent club.

This is the state of affairs at two clubs and the players in question have both produced doctors notes (an all powerful document here) to excuse them from all club related activities for a period of time.

I can only assume that the £3.5m-a-year-and-worth-every-penny-of-it-PFA-general-secretary, Gordon Taylor, isn't aware of that?

Arse. I hope we match it and he favours Warbs over Redknapp.

I'll be pissed off if we let this one go to scrotum face.

I reckon scrotum face does all his scouting on football manager.

Out of the players we've been linked with, this would be the biggest for me. A leader at the back, something we're clearly lacking. And a really good player, according to Brentford fans

Having a medical at Birmingham today.

Hope we have another target lined up we can quickly move onto.

Urgh, that's a big disappointment. for £2m as well, seems like an absolute bargain for them.

If we don't have someone else in mind and have let this one slip through the net it will be disappointing. Surely Warbs and McP know we need to strengthen defense.

Maybe Brum offered more money, or maybe the figures quoted were more than FM/MW thought he was worth.

They need to tune in to other deals and not broadcast it to anyone else.

    .
I'd say that was highly probable.

Birmingham remember were apparently paying Nikola Zigic £50k a week, in the Championship!

I'd rather that NFFC kept on the financially prudent path, at least until we can balance the books a bit by shifting some of the dead wood from the squad.
