I went to watch Notts last night.

    Jack Lester was in attendance.

Grant's technical ability makes him stand out at that level. He floats in and out of the game and that's an area I think he's always needed improvement on. But he is impactful for them when he has it in the final 3rd. Scored a very good goal and was extremely unlucky with another. Set pieces were good too. But he definitely isn't ready for Champ yet.

Yates impressed me. He is probably a little old fashioned in the box-to-box sense, relatively simple. Puts his foot in when needed and moves the ball along nicely too. Had a good effort saved. (Accrington's keeper had a blinder).

Grant & Yates have been sensational over the river.

Yates just carries so much passion and drive it is contagious. Scored their 2nd today.

Can we recall Grant and loan him to a league 1 team in January?

Tbh League 1 - League 2 - you facing physical football most of the time.

Good environment. You comfortable in your own skin and performing and possibly could win a title.

I would leave Yates and Grant there.

Just to touch on the negative side.

Whoever pushed Iacovitti to go sit on the bench at Forest Green Rovers - go shoot yourself.

We can say a lot of things about Hardy but he is getting the atmosphere over the river right and they badly wanted Iacovitti. Odd decision.

Must admit, I like a Defender and I liked the look of young Iacovitti when I saw him first, but this loan move has not worked at all.

He needs games and not being dumped on the subs bench.

He still has another year but limited spots in our first team mean competition is tough. You only got to see on the academy thread how Anel's connections expect him to be in the first team.

It just shows you how vital making the right decisions are early in your career. Rub of the green plays a part to.

    We have enough short midfielders.

It was a nice header by Yates. Limited pace on the ball and he had to create it to put into the corner behind him. Great finish.

Great interview video and match rating here with NEP - Always been level headed young man. But Kevin Nolan had the cheek to say he reminds him of himself

Fits the mould of the "Forest academy player" perfectly.

Battler, physically developed, got good technique and good mentality.

He has gone under the radar amongst supporters because he never played for the 1st team but I remember when I watched the youth team with Burke & Tyler in it and he was easily a stand out player. Hope he surprises a few people, I think he will.

    You not wrong there.

That team was decent - Elrandsson, Yates, Worrall, Iacovitti, Cash, Burke, Walker, McDonagh all still here. Often people would comment how physically developed this team was through the age groups. Even the much talked about grouper before with Smith, Lascelles, Gorman, Fenton, Morgan, Osborn, Wallace, Blake, Bamford etc

But I think there has been a massive change below them. I wouldn't say we massive physically but there is probably more individual flair with the modern game.

But if you look at the size of the players at the top academies now and it is scary. African descent players certainly playing a part with that with big percentages of academy players in the top academies now.

Jorge Grant: Volleyed a chance wide when you would have backed him to hit the target at least. Much better in the second half. 6/10

Ryan Yates: Plenty of hard work in what was a real powerhouse performance which was rewarded with a goal and he could have had more. 8/10

    Source : NEP

Alex Iacovitti finally got another start for FGR and they won.
