Default Forest Fans, out and about

Over the last few weeks, I've run into a few Forest fans, be it while walking in Manhattan or as recently as today when I came across another while I was in Yeovil.

Got me thinking, where's the most unusual/unexpected place you've run into a fellow red?

I could tell you, but I'm not allowed to talk about it.

The guy on the left in this pic is a bar owner in Pefkos, Rhodes, the sign he's holding has pride of place behind the bar. I don't think he's ever been to Nottingham, but he reckons he's been a Forest fan since the 80s.

It was nice to see his face light up when me and my lad walked in wearing Forest shirts....

The pool bar at the Matina apartments. The guy also runs a restaurant called Meltemi, which if you know Pefkos is on the right as you walk up from the main beach.

Brazil are quiet hooked on the whole garibaldi thing, i also beleive the argentinian side indpendiente have a red stripe in their shirt because of NFFC.
Back to the subject. I have met NFFC sympathisers in Sao Paulo, Cordoba (argentina), madrid, barcelona, monchengladbach, koln, vancouver (this guy was an actual fan, as we were sponsored by Labatts at the time).

Was sat in the home end for the Barry Roche coffee cup game at PP. Turned out that bloke next to me was a red too. Didn't speak that day but we both knew the other was Forest. Funnily enough I bumped in to him a couple of weeks later when I was out and about with work and had a right laugh about it.

I was once in a bar in Brussels - totally shit faced - and met a Belgian Forest fan who was even more shit faced. We ended up singing Forest songs and getting even more shit faced together on westmalle triple. My head fucking hurt the next day.

In fact it ruined my whole visit to Brussels as I had stuff planned the next two days but kept having to drink all day from early morning. Hair of the dog!!

I was walking through a Disney waterpark in Florida a few years ago and spotted a bloke in a Forest shirt. We had a good 20 minute chat about stuff. I think it was just after Fawaz's takeover so we were both in buoyant moods. Christ, were we wide of the mark.

I went to get some stuff from the farmers market yesterday. Guy asks me where in England I'm from. Then he's off on one, ah, Marinakis, we are brothers now eh? Took me 20 mins to get out of the shop and when I got outside I still had some old guy ( not a clue who he was) with his arm around me and a big toothless smile. They are all mad you know.

In a market in Kuala Lumpur, I was wearing a Forest shirt and as I walked past one of the local vendors he started yelling "Brian Clough!" over and over in very broken English while sticking his thumb up and beaming at me.

Yea Vidigal is a bit naughty to be fair. Beautiful city though, and lovely people.

And we are "Nottingham" in Brazil apparently, the Forest bit doesn't seem to make much impact at all.

My milkman, here in Liverpool. He's a Forest fan, although more recently he's been wearing a lot Barca.

I'm hoping less Fawaz will see him back in the Garibaldi.
