Does anyone think they may want Smith to go out on loan to another club with a Warburton style philosophy ?

Ronnow will come in as first choice. It seems pointless having Smith warming the bench. He's got a lot of talent, he needs to be playing games and getting better.

Thing is Nixon is well connected in the north-west, I don't doubt that. Beyond that he throws enough out and hopes some sticks. But then again, that's true for 99% of transfer window hacks.

My main problem with Nixon is he seems to get off on it. He puts out these vague references because his timeline lights up with 14 year old boys asking of its player x, y or z. Then his atitude like he is some all seeing, all knowing transfer guru and if dare question him, or his opinion he throws out cheap insults and bans you.

If you want to have a laugh, go read articles Nixon wrote on Steve Kean (you know, the bloke who used to collect bibs but ended up being Blackburn manager). It tells you all you need to know about him and his football knowledge.

I think that would be good. But do any clubs who would likely want to loan him actually play out from the back? It seems a style more adopted by higher teams.

He played yesterday for Brondby in a 2-0 loss to AGF Aarhus. (is that where we got Rune Pedersen from?)

    Default Frederick Ronnow

    [QUOTE=Ashley;2654176]
Though I get the feeling that the key factor for Warburton is the keepers distribution and ability to command his area, rather than his age/experience.[/

Edit: I give up. Damn technology....

Seems to fit the bill of being able to play it from the back!

    That was filthy. Love it.

I assume its for direct competition with Smith rather than to replace or help him. Again, Jordan is only 22 so has plenty of years of progression ahead of him; altho on the back of Middlesbrough performance I'm more than happy with him at #1.

Saying that I didn't feel there was a need to replace Lichaj but Darikwa has been a revelation at right back.

He reminds of that woman from Edwardian Farm. That's got to knock a couple of hundred thousand off the price tag.

with the price quoted for ronnow , there's no way he would just be at forest to compete with smith , he's here to be no.1.

I can't see us paying out £2.5m on a goalkeeper and him not going straight into the side. The only sensible option if this happens is to loan Smith out if possible.

It is really quite harsh on Smith but if Fred is a better quality goalkeeper and still quite young himself then sorry Jordan lifes tough.

Has anyone come out with a price for him yet? I've seen the 2.8m on the rumour mill thing the post have

£2.8m for a keeper with a very good reputation aka Schmiechel.
Could be an excellent bit of business, probably on fairly low wages and it maybe the next Jordan Pickford...Kerching!

It's the Eric Lichaj scenario, isn't it.

Fans might not like it; but so far Darikwa is a better player and it improves us as a result of it. I don't think we should even loan Smith out for this season; keep him around.

There is no way it will be more than that. One, because we probably won't pay more than that and two, that's a lot of money to a Danish club.

Apart from a few minor distribution issues, Don't see how you could improve on Smith at present.

2 mill or not, Id be dissappointed if Smith was replaced at the moment.

I think Smith is a smashing GK I really do - but I think his distribution issues aren't minor. Pace i.e less touches and quick thinking are at the centre of MW's thinking...
just look at Kieran 'total football' Dowell - if we can have players in all positions who can move the ball faster than the opposition then we are going to be hard to beat this season
