    Default Adam Federici

Interest in him confirmed by the Post now. Rumours online that he's had a medical today.

    http://www.nottinghampost.com/sport/...rangers-310055

6'2, 32 year old Australian international goalkeeper. Plenty of experience with almost 200 games played in the Championship and a promotion with Reading under his belt.

Currently at Bournemouth who have signed Asmir Begovic this summer and also have Boruc so it seems like Federici would be 3rd choice.

Also recovering/recovered from a knee injury picked up in Feb this year.

A good goalkeeper, I would rather have Foderingham but this guy is still a good goalkeeper. He will improve our squad.

Probably wouldn't be signing him if he was still injured would we?

I don't mind him if we sign him but we already have Smith, Henderson, evtimov, stojkevic and the Swedish lad on the books. I know stoj is likely on his way out and the Swedish guy is a work in progress but do we need a fourth goalkeeper?

Henderson just straight up isn't good enough from his showings last season. His kicking is crap and he looks like a rabbit in the headlights.

Bossin is u23, Erlandsson is out on loan. Evtimov either needs games out on loan or moving on, or he's going to make a living as a No.2.

I wouldn't be against sending Smith out on loan for the season if we sign Federici.

We might have plenty under contract. But from what we've got, only Smith, and Erlandsson look to have the potential to be no.1's at Forest imo. (not including Bossin who i've seen nothing of)

I agree, except maybe with the Henderson comment. I think he started awfully but was doing well when he got injured.

My point is we have plenty under contract for the first team at the moment so we should really be shipping three out at least if we're looking to bring one in. Paying 5 or 6 goalies isn't the best way of settling down financially speaking.

Not sure what Warbs is planning with these keepers.

Sjojkovic is obviously a gonner and Henderson definately won't settle for playing third fiddle regardless how long he's been out.

So is it yet another loan for Dimi and maybe one for Smith? Not even mentioning those other two talented youths, Erlandsson and Bossin.

To an outsider things are rather simple. Smith no 1, the Australian an experienced no 2 and Evtimov no 3. Henderson out.

Federici won't leave the Premier League for the Championship unless he's playing regular football. If we buy him, he'll be our number one.

Why have we got triple more keepers than left backs?

    I would.

Federici is bang average No.2 material.

I dunno. He's your prototypical Championship number one - he easily fits alongside guys like Randolph, Steele, Smithies, Carson, Green etc.

It might be just what we need to get the defence organised. Smith is not experienced enough (yet) for the trenches that await this season.

I'm pretty sure Federici will be first choice, harsh on Smith but he's still young and he's got a bit of stuff to work on still, even if he's out of the team for a couple of seasons he'd still be young for a first choice keeper by then. Hopefully he'll get his head down and prove MW that he deserves that number 1 shirt.

Henderson has been out injured for six months anyway. I agree Evtimov is very much third choice, but I'm guessing the other two will be competing for a place.

Goal scoring keeper. More attack added to our arsenal.
