As stated watching him in the youth set ups and odd performances for the first team.
Really expected this season was the season he broke in to the first team.
Still expecting big things. Hoping he is a regular starter. Hes has no narural position. He can play wide left or wide right or a number ten. Box to box midfielder not affraid ro put a foot in.
Either get in the box late or drift just outside like paul scholes.
If he gets 12 or more goals. That would be a good return for his first proper full season.

Just seen highlights. Good finish and his vision to see the forward one on one. Shame the guy didnt put it away. He looked like he played ok. Was he wide right or central? Seemed to have an open role.
Doea like to hit it from outside the box. Wasnt clean but went in.

He had a sizeable impact on the game - the lad that he replaced had been a passenger and Dowell's quality showed immediately after coming on. He seemed to have a fairly free role between midfield and attack which suited him nicely.
Brentford were going in quite hard on him so I think the word is already out that this boy is something different.
He's a joy to watch - it's a delight to have him in a Forest shirt.

Had some good touches and played some great passes. Ruthless from Warburton to yank Clough despite us winning but impressive move and showed we wanted to get on the ball more, had a half-decent impact when he got on the ball.
I hope he enjoys his time here, id love him to stay permanently

Never happen. Everton value him highly.

Shame that Clough got bullied out of the game as he obviously has quality. Dowell's size gives him the advantage
Dowell would walk into any team in the Championship. That's the difference.
He could be this season's Tammy Abraham.
"Outside the family life, there is nothing better than winning the European Cups." Brian Clough
He's taller than 5'10", isn't he?
I walk around like everything is fine but deep down, in my shoe, my sock is sliding off.
Not at the height mentioned, even I am taller and I am very small.
Some people call it a one night stand but we can call it paradise.
I'm quite short for my height.
He was excellent yesterday. Clough just couldn't get in the game at all, he was getting bullied off the ball every time it went near him. Dowell got involved a lot more. Talking of Clough, I just watched back the iFollow highlights and one of their players looked like he booted him but Clough didn't react.
Having a free role is one thing, but not bothering about tracking runs when we're 2 goals up away from home is another. Good player, but both Clough and Dowell played a big part in allowing Brentford to run into our half way too easily!
Maybe that was the plan, but it looked naive at times.

Dowell was still shielding and protecting the ball well when Brentford players were harrying him and pushing him in the back.
I was really impressed with this kid after seeing him live. The ball sticks to him and you always feel he's going to find a teammate with a pass that will open up the opposition. If not, it'll still be a good pass.
Clough didn't have the best of games and there was one occasion where he just lumped the ball forward without looking and it ended up way past Murphy and into space. I knew then he wasn't on his game.
Osborn isn't a left wing back but he did much better second half. I've been a critic of Traore but he attacked well down the left when he came on and the Dowell goal came about from his good work.
Good to have so many options.
