Default The big pre-season poll thread

As football fans on a forum, we do like to look in forensic detail at the game and our club. That's what we signed up for, isn't it?

But for this poll, I'm not looking for nuance or fine margines. Let's keep it simple...

Are you positive, neutral, negative or onions towards this season?

I'm positive but really irritated by the delay in getting the season ticket cards sent out.

Neutral due to the fact that we seem to want to play attacking football with a very poor defence and no defensive midfielder. Saying that Warbuton is a great manager so that's why it's all balanced out.

I'm neutral until I see some proper competitive games and get a feel for how well the team is gelling, how much their fitness levels have an impact in matches, how well Warburtons coaching improves the overall way we play and how well the new players compare. Not worried about Murphy he's already proven. There are positive vibes, but they soon come crashing down to earth after a few defeats.
Still positive for the long term though.

I was even positive during the Matt Gillies and Megson years, so it would've taken something pretty disastrous to have occurred over the summer to dampen my start-of-the-season enthusiasm.

I'm always positive at the start of a new season. The negativity only seeps in when we haven't won the league by Christmas.

Quietly confident. I think we'll raise eyebrows this season, even prompt comments like 'sleeping giants finally waking after two decades of slumber'.

But I retain a nagging sense of doubt, lingering around the back of my mind like the stench of League One. This is, after all, Forest we're talking about.

Have to be positive on eve of a new season - as long as there are signs of progress, some great games and not any signs of flirting with league 1, I'll be happy and looking forward to pushing for promotion the following year. And yes start and finish the season with the same manager!

On the football field? Neutral. Pre-Season suggests we still have outstanding issues to be addressed. I'm also disappointed we haven't shipped more players out.

Off it? Like night and day.

Good signings (most of whom highly regarded by the fans of the clubs that we have signed them from), excellent manager, nice football, owner that knows how to run a football club. Seems pretty positive to me!

One has to be positive simply because of the changes (for the better)that the new owners have already made.
However starting from such a long established position the Club was in may well mean that this season will be transitional.
Our midfield still looks lightweight and having watched the videos of the goals we have conceded in the pre-season games we still look highly vulnerable to crosses from the right wing into the box.
The space allowed in the penalty area to opponents needs to be eliminated.
And I feel, rightly or wrongly, that if we concede, confidence may crumble.
Still, Warburton appears to be in a better class of manager than we have had for a few seasons.
So, on balance, I am quietly positive.
Can hardly wait for Friday night!

Positive, think we may surprise a few this season with the setup and team we now have.

I may have to revisit this around Christmas but my feeling is top half with a bit of flirting with the playoffs.

Don't know if it's been said but as long as Alf or EM don't blow up the Gaffer's bakery we'll be fine.

I'm definitely optimistic for the season but a slight concern where the goals are coming from. The two games pre season I saw against girona and Burnley we struggled to create a lot but then again it was a higher class of opposition
