    Default Wes Foderingham

Latest keeper to be linked with us, from Rangers:

Can he play "midfield bastard"? (patent Chriscl)

Surprised it took this long for us to be linked with him considering we seem to be after a keeper.

I remember him being tipped for big things when he was at Swindon. The only times I've seen him play for Rangers is when Celtic have been sticking 4 or 5 past him

I actually just used the search function to find the first usage of 'midfield bastard' and found this quote from Flaggers on 22nd April 2011

I thought McKenna & Cohen were a superb unit in midfield, each complementing the other - Cohen's pace & McKenna's 'hard bastard' in-yer-face thing.
Reckon Mr Flagman can stake a claim there.

I see your midfield bastard and raise you a midfield rotter

Fairly confident it can't get any more grim than that

My mates and I always refer to that kind of player as 'a Churchill' when we're talking about signing one on Football Manager: a hard, little, ugly bastard who isn't afraid to get stuck in and a great leader.

I used the word 'bastard' many times in the late 80s and early 90s whilst watching midfielder Paul Ince. And 'twat' and '****'.

I suppose that the origin of the phrase is the midfield general, so you're not far off. If we wanted to get posh we could demand a midfield admiral. A midfield commodore might be pushing it though

To those that went to the game tonight - do they still think we don't need another keeper to give Smith competition?

Evtimov looked like he couldn't kick the ball and looked a bag of nerves... in a pre-season friendly against lower league opposition!

    We definitely need another goalkeeper.

More chance of the Mighty Wez from Mad Max 2.

Admirals are better than commodore's. Well higher ranking anyway.

We need two keepers. Evtimov would benefit from going out on loan imo.

Can imagine Rangers wanting too much for their keeper

Smith looked quality, then theres Henderson. What about Bossin?

How many keepers do we want.

If this lad (or any keeper) comes in you'd assume Hendo will be shipped out.

That would be fitting, seeing as much of our Midfield was completely at sea last season.

Lansbury's missus was full of semen at one point as well. Allegedly.

We've apparently made another bid for him.

Warburton does not appear to be giving up on getting his man.
