£3m? Fuck that, £1m for a League Two full back is excessive as it is, if they want any more than that then we should just move on TBH.

Like that we're going after these sorts. Thank god we don't want to depend on Lichaj.

How small of a budget do people think we have! We can still spend good money without being in trouble.

Given that Mark Warburton, Nicholas Randall and Evangelos Marinakis have all alluded to FFP being an obstacle, and the fact that the club loses a substantial amount of money every season, I reckon our budget is rather small in comparison to a lot of Championship clubs. Certainly going to need to spend what money we do have wisely.

sadly prices have been inflated even for any league 2 players. No more bargains to be had. To think that andre gray was only bought from the same club 2-3 years ago for 500k.

Let's move on. The championship right back in the team of the year is Andy Yiadom from barnsley who also received their player's player of the year and he's available with only one year to go on his contract after rejecting an extension. I'm sure he'll be much cheaper and better and he's vesatile too. Played left back and right back.

it seems like real bad business that we let pillions go now. you reckon we can resign him if he is still out of contract?

Gone Cordoba. He's too injury prone, considering we have Traore (also injury prone) on a long contract.

I'd sign this guy for somewhere near 1.5m, and it'd give me pause for thought at 2m.

£1.5m to £2m would be an insane amount of money to spend on a fourth division right back, paying that sort of fee would show that we have learned nothing as a football club since the Fawaz era.

It's not a position we are in urgently in need of someone to fill, and if we do want to sign a right back there will be cheaper and / or more proven options available elsewhere. This is not a gamble that the club needs to take.

    Luton are taking the piss.

If Warbs wanted him that badly I'd go 1.5 mill max but is still a crazy price for a league 2 rb.

Think they're assuming they can take us to the cleaners and have a nice chunk of the Britt money.

    I'd rather look elsewhere.

I agree its a lot, but it all comes down to how good the boy is. If he's gonna be worth twice that (at least, and based on FMP and MW previous transfer policy) after a couple of seasons in the Championship then you can't blame Luton for inflating the price or us for paying it.

We might be great in this league, or he might not even cut it in League One, who knows? It's a lot of money to gamble on the premise that he *might* be good at this level. £1m is a huge amount of money for a 4th tier right back, any more than that and Luton would be laughing all the way to the bank. I'd rather we didn't take the gamble TBH.

All the quotes why would he want to stay there, well perhaps because it is his home town. Ilson is a shit hole, I was born there but still love it.

A lot of the risk in these decisions is taken away by data and metric analysis. And Warburton/McParland have previous success stories in these cases.

    That's why they get what's called a sell-on fee.

If he really does make the step up, then Luton would be due for the same amount they want now if not more. If he doesn't make it, Forest aren't carrying a cost for a duff.

£1.5m + sell on fee is fair price for Luton.

Talking of crazy money for right backs, Kyle Walker cost about the same as Nottingham Forest Football Club.

Kyle Walker cost the same as three years of our entire turnover.

That's he gap now, between the "haves" and "have nots".
