    Default Jackson Irvine

Nixon on Twitter saying there is "a live interest" in Irvine.

24 year old 6'2 centre mid, 10 goals in the league for Burton last season.

Looks to have just about everything we need.

Would significantly strengthen our spine & give us much needed goals from midfield, should we decide to cash in on Britt.

I was wondering how long it was going to be before we are linked with him. If we went and got out Irvine & Luongo and loaned out Cash that would be some superb business.

Same question applies to irvine as would luongo - how much ? These players are established first team players from their teams. As i said before , i can see a summer of frustration.

At least there are a host of similar options being explored, unlike the pratley saga

Pratley & Whittingham was under our old "transfer aquisition panel" regime ran by marthur. Derisory bids were a way of life those days.

    More chance of Jackson Browne.

In all seriouness, its a clear statement of intent by Warburton that he's going after the jewels of other teams. Luongo, Irvine, MacDonald

Reckon we'd get him for somewhere around 2.5-4million.

Burton signed him for 304k so that would be a solid bit of business from them.

Me thinks he's seen people talking about him in another thread and has had nothing better to do this morning.

Rumour has it that he's got a release clause in his contract, so he'd perhaps be available for less than that. Either way I'd say Burton will be making a tidy profit.

Being an Aussie he probably has the charisma to pull it off

Definitely, we'd look a heck of a lot stronger in midfield should we add those two. Whether we can afford to sign both Irvine and Luongo is the big question, neither will be cheap (although if we are going to be investing heavily in any position this summer, midfield is definitely the area that we should focus on).

Luongo and Irvine would be a massive upgrade on our midfield, certainly addresses the weaknesses we had last year defensively, plus could add a few goals.

Not sure I'd want my two CM's bogging off 3 or 4 times a year to fly 30 hours to play against bloody Papua New Guinea.
