Maybe he's just a fan of football in general, and as owner of a football club did it out of respect and courtesy.
I think so many of our fans are used to Fawaz and his ridiculousness that they're skeptical of anything that sounds positive

Think he's confused "Bala FC" with "Bakery"

Sounds like a standardised message that, maybe he's implemented a process of congratulating global competition winners at Olympiakos.

Why not? Polite gesture. Fair play.

How is this even a story?

    Good on him.

It's about time the game returned to the values that made it the national sport in the first place.

It's a pity more Chairman and managers from the higher echelons of the game don't notice and recognise the achievements of teams further down the football pyramid.

Should the example set by Scudamore and the Premier League be the one to follow or could we return to a era where reward was not purely about the financial gain and me, me wankers.

That was my initial thought, hence I thought our Grecian friends would be able to shed some light as to him doing it for other leagues around the world!

    Exactly that.

It's like a bot generated message

Every year this dpt of the club send wishes to the winners of championships. Not only to the higher ones. And they send to us, so it would be really rude not to return the gesture

I cannot understand why this is even a media report.

    It's completely silly.

I think it's a cracking idea , One day he may have dealings with any of the clubs he has sent messages to and it starts any negotiations that may come start off on a positive step.

'nough said. It has been standard practice for many years in our press office.

It says in that he sent one to Prestatyn Town when they won it too. As a sponsor I am fact checking this!

Incidentally, the title at Nottingham Post is entirely misleading: the message was not sent by Marinakis, not even on behalf of Marinakis, but the Head of International Relations of Olympiacos.

But I guess someone has to fill the void of a no-news period and attract some clicks.

The Evening Post, and it's main Forest "journalist" Paul Taylor, are both blights on the landscape of Nottingham.

Any remotely minor thing such as this gets reported, and often in a way designed to provoke or stir up trouble amongst the fanbase.

Still I cannot understand how idiot someone can be to write such a garbage.

Football is a great sport and our team has many times in the past shown the club's appreciation especially to low level teams that overperform to win a trophy.

Sometimes an accomplishment of this level means more than a real Madrid's championship

Anyway, now you got the picture

I think it's quite a nice touch personally, quite good of him to give praise to an achievement which probably isn't getting much coverage outside of their local press. Don't understand why this is newsworthy though.

It's just a dog shit rag of a paper with no care for the club whatsoever other than the fact stories about it generate readers.

They are definitely a negative thing towards the club and often stir up animosity towards the club.

They are particularly bad when there is nothing newsworthy to report on so have to start inventing shit and normally start doomongering on how bad everything is for us.

In dramatic news soon to be shared with the Post (possibly front page) I can confirm Prestatyn Town DID receive a letter after their giantkilling Welsh cup victory, and I am endeavouring to get a copy.

    Exciting times.
