If it were possible for this window to take a backwards step.

Alright for a younger Murphy replacement i.e. 4th choice striker and offers some extra cover on the wings. Would be disappointed if he was anything other than a squad player at this stage.

He’s like a shitter version of Dele Adebola.

    No thanks.

I thought Sammy Ameobi was primarily a winger?

Either way, he isn't good enough for me, even as a squad player.

Yeah he's played mostly down the wings for Bolton he has played a bit through the middle too though and you'd expect him to win a bit in the air at 6'4.

Suppose he'd fill both the role of back up winger and big lump upfront off the bench if he came (albeit not particularly well in either position).

Would be underwhelmed if he were to sign.

Used to get on my wick how Adebola used to stand around with his back to goal all the time

    Yeah that's what I'm thinking.

As I say I've only seen it from one ITK guy and he's been hit and miss in the past, got Wague, Pele and Bonatini right in Jan but also said McDonald was on and so was the Osborn and McClean swap.

I always thought Sammy Ameobi was a proper handful on the wing because he’s so tall and powerful. Similar style to Lolley in that he likes to cut inside and shoot - talking about being greater than the sum of our parts. Ameobi would give us something different to make teams worry about.

Statistically better than Adomah last season in a far worse team and 4 years younger. I’d rather have Sammy.

Wouldn't want either as a starting player but I agree I'd rather have Ameobi, if only for the age difference, although you've got to imagine he'd probably demand a lower wage too.

If he does sign, I hope it is as a squad player and not with the starting XI in mind. I can see why his versatility and physicality might appeal to MON, but as a first choice winger I'd much rather have a proven quality player like Grosicki or an exciting younger player like Whyte.

He only played 5 times last season scoring 1 goal, so technically he does has a better goals to game ratio but if he couldn't get in a poor Bolton side what does that say.

Definitely not a first eleven player, but definitely a rotation/sub option to change games and give us something a bit different.

Having had a look back at the guys stats, he hasn’t really a manager back him till he got to Bolton - and even then, it wasn’t like he was in a team with the style of ours.

I think he’s probably a safe bet to be decent on his day on low wages and gives us that blace/power on the wing.

Very little in it last season, but Adomah smashed him the season before. All about opinions, Ive seen them both play & Adomah looked a Rolls Royce in comparison to a very awkward looking Ameobi.

I hope we land neither, but Adomah looks like he could contribute more in whats supposed to be a promotion season.

Don't think his Wiki has the right stats, Transfermarkt has him as playing 30 scoring 4 and assisting 4.

We've been linked with him before just like Harrison Reed and Albert Adomah. Makes you think there could be something in it.

If we get him, then we need another winger still.

Back post arrival winger option is best I can get myself to be excited about along with his awkward dribbling that can be difficult to stop.

Please no. Why would we sign someone who couldn't stand out in a relegated team? Other than because they're big.
