    Twat.

But that storiy is a bit fucked up like his excuses.

They find how many trains there are and how long it takes from the Toon just after reporting that he has moved to Nottingham.

    £190k car, FFS!

It's unfair in many cases, but no wonder the modern-day footballer is widely regarded as being totally isolated from reality.

To be honest that’s a load of c—p.
The C63, even if you went insane on the options list, is nowhere near that much.

The „base“ spec is (from Memory) about €70.000, and then your can have as many options as you want for the interior and additional performance parts (and you need to, this being a Mercedes-Benz where the base spec gets you basically a body, engine and gearbox and some wheels).

Maybe if he dipped it in gold, but there’s no way it cost that much, unless he’s been thoroughly ripped off.

(Source: they make them about 4km from where I live).

He certainly hasn't been caught speeding on the pitch.

Even if it's a high spec version you can get it for half that price if it's not new.

Also, while rushing from Newcastle to Nottingham, he fell foul of a 40mph zone near Manchester?

It’s when he was playing for Bolton, he lived in Newcastle.

Hence why he got stopped in Manchester.

He was trying to make the case that getting to Nottingham will be problematic if disqualified. Geezer needs to move to Bridgford and bloomin well walk.

He would have hired a well paid brief to come up with his excuses.

Remember when Ferguson was caught driving on a hard shoulder to avoid a traffic jam. His lawyer claimed that he was suffering from diarrhoea. The jammy devil got away with it.

    This contradiction was a particular beauty;

''I know I messed up but also I have just moved to Nottingham. I’m working there now me and my fiancé has moved too".

So do you need the car to commute from Newcastle or have you moved Sammy lad? Good job this fella has had football to provide him with a living.

OK, as per Strummer, the car is not a £190k car.
However I have an anecdote that sums up the modern day footballer's attitude.
One of the contractors working for the company I was at in my retirement year bought from Ashley Young a Bentley Convertible.
The car was less than 2 years old and yet it cost our contractor just over £50k.
However it cost another £50k to put right the damage that the car had suffered at the hands of Young in the <2 years he had owned it.
That to me is absolutely criminal in terms of the lack of respect for things and lack of self-respect for allowing the car to become in need of such repairs.
    No wonder player's are vilified.

You don't need a well-paid legal representative to come up with that guff, anyone could.

    You just need deferential magistrates.

No, no they don’t. As per earlier post, and here, in English money:

The „ AMG 63S“ variant adds about £10k (english) to that. You can add maybe £20k if you go nuts with the leather interiors and Sat Nav options, but nowhere near £190k.

As per previous, I live about 4km from where they make them. I’ve been to the factory several times (Daimler-Benz are a longtime partner of ours).

The rather fancy dash-mounted display and the heads-up display (you can’t see it in the above photo, but íts projected onto the windscreen) is made by a certain large German conglomerate of my acquaintance.

50k to him is the equivalent of someone being on 200 quid a week and the car costing 100 quid... its nowt.

    No, it says „his 186mph AMG S 63 Auto“.

There’s no such thing, you’ve either got the C63 AMG „S“ variant, or the SL63 Roadster, (which is a completely different beast, and that one starts about €120.000, minimum). There is an S-class AMG 63, but not as a cabriolet?

All the AMG 6.3litre models are electronically limited to 255km/h (or 186mp/h). Do I need to add who makes the electronic fuel injectors and the engine management system for them?

Unless of course the good old current bun have got competency the wrong thing. Again.

    Spitting feathers.

It's an enormous sum of money for the average person which a bang average football can afford with ease.

Well. This is it, isn’t it?

I remember Roy Keane turning up to Forest Matches driving a Ford Orion (I kid you not).

Now we have Second-Tier journeymen driving the kind of cars that are beyond the reach of the vast majority of the matchday supporter.
