A good stat that an old poster put up (I miss ya Francis) said how long it was since a club reached a quarter final.

There was one team worse than us, and they got relegated to the Non League last month.

Forest are now the worst cup team in British professional football.

It is poor Sam. We used to be brilliant in all the Cups.

Fulham are the only team in the top two divisions two have waited longer than us to appear at Wembley (or Cardiff) and even they managed to get to a UEFA Cup final in that time. Shameful.

Iirc it was by some distance as well, our last QF being the Euro Cup in 90s. Can't remember who was next but there was a 10 year gap.

If we go again I want it to actually mean something.
Mate, for those of us who are too young to have seen the glory days (such as my good self) it will absolutely mean something!

Sorry, I'll lose my pride in the club one day and accept the Johnstones Paint Trophy final will be a good day out.

Being sarcastic but you know what I mean?

We've waited, and waited. One day it will come.

Wembley displayed the 166 teams that had played at the new stadium on the arch the other day. Will fish out the link in a bit.

From what I have read the 3 Stars were added for no other reason than aesthetics to balance out the whole design.

That being said, Man City does have a strong Masonic connection in its past, hence they play in sky blue and white the colours of English Freemasonry. The United Grand Lodge of England's quarterly magazine in 2002 ran a piece on Man City's Masonic history.

It can be argued that the Phoenix and Three Stars do have a Masonic connection, but there are a plethora of Masonic symbols, many of which are either Biblical or mystically traditional.

I suspect that the 3 stars have no real symbolic meaning and are just a part of plague of superficial hype that infests the game these days.

So what you're saying is that Man City are a power-crazed brotherhood, bent on taking over the world?

(They're not doing a bad job of it so far, to be fair?)

Freemasonry ceased to have any sociopolitical influence after the 1960s. History shows us that it was the backbone of the Enlightenment, the driving force behind the American and French revolutions and the growth of the British Empire. However those days are long gone and Masonry now is just a minor social club with no socio-political influence.

The last Masonic PM was McMillan and the last US President was Reagan, but Reagan was a "Shriner" (an offshoot organisation) rather than a Mason.

Think our first trip to the new Wembley will be when we get Spurs away in one of the cups.

More chance of us visiting the Nou Camp than the new Wembley!

The tubes were absolutely rammed last night when I was out.

So many Reading fans with glum faces. Then the Huddersfield lot arrived and it was like an Emmerdale reunion party.

I noticed that as well. Was on my way up to Angel and sat opposite an extremely depressed looking bunch of Reading fans on the tube saying that Stam had bottled it and that they should get McDermott back in!

What's the worst cup team judged on, this century?

It is slightly sad, as we were notorious last century for being incredibly good at cup competitions!

I bet they wouldn't say that to his face.

He'd rip their heads off and shit down their neck.
