    Default Notts County Ladies Fold

2 days before the season starts. Hardys pockets dont go deep enough to bail the women out.

Hardy will take a huge amount of stick for this.

    Seems a shame.

A bit odd as well, I'm sure part of their season ticket package for next season included free entry to the ladies games.

Crazy, judging from the player's reactions they only found out about the club folding through breaking news... No advance warning whatsoever.

I've been cynical about the way Trew relocated and rebadged the Lincoln team to parachute Notts Ladies into the Women's Super League but you've got to feel for the individuals involved (many of them England internationals as well)

£500,000 wage bill and income of £28,000. And people say we're badly run.

Hmm. Seems like a poor business decision to me.

Notts County Mens - Unsuccesful, unprofitable and have local, more successful competition. Potentially unviable going forwards.
Notts County Womens - Succesful, currently unprofitable, with no local competition. Likely to benefit going forward from increased interest in the women's game.

Seems to me the sensible business decision would be to fold the Men's team.

They just cant compete at wsl level, pitched against man city, Arsenal, Chelsea et al. I should nt imagine any of them are in profit, just propped up by the mens team

Demonstrates what a class act Hardy is. Announces his decision to pull-the-plug two days before the start of the season without even having the basic common courtesy to inform the team's staff and players beforehand.

Something doesn't stack up in those revenue numbers.. For example BT signed a deal to broadcast this years WSL Spring Series games. On top of that they're pulling crowds of 1,000 on average (although seems they have shot themselves in the foot by giving away tickets).

Yeah it's possible that a zero has been missed off the income figure but even if it has it still means that outgoings are pretty much double income. Still mental.

Been taking a pasting on Twitter has Alan Hardy.

Doesn't like it when the going gets tough. He needs to get off Twitter before it ruins him.

I love a lady that can fold. I'll hire her, them. Well, just one. Swaggers can rent the rest. He is a pervert that rents girls. I merely want my shirts folded.

Watching Alan Hardy on EMT last night, he's either playing hardball on the business side or he's simply not got enough money to run a football league club.

Money. He's been bankrupt a few times so running 500k losses a year is ridiculous. That's the trouble with the ladies game, it's unsustainable.

    Here's a novel thought.

3pm today is Forest v Reading.
Why not 12.00 noon, Forest Ladies v Reading Ladies.

All the infrastructure is in place, stewarding, police, catering, ground is open....

    "This statement is false."

I saw that too Richard, and what a truly lamentable excuse for a "grilling" he received from that weasely Colin bloke who interviewed him; especially after a filmed clip was played immediately before featuring a clearly-distressed player understandably wanting answers from Hardy.

Get the "laydeez" out the way you mean while us men prop up the bar at one of the local hosteleries. I like your plan
