This is the guitarist who's coming to play free of charge . Donations will be asked for to cover his travel and hotel though in the pub. No obligation obviously

Decided to put this comment here for no other reason than it's handy, I feel it needs to be said and this thread simply mentions ownership so therefore those with 'Fawaz Out' posters. My allegiance to either side of this argument has never been stated and isn't an issue here. I had words with a 'fan' proudly holding one of these 'Fawaz out' posters above his head during the game, in my way as it happens, and I was going to rip it apart and stuff it down his throat. He decided to put it away and keep it there. He's scum. He represents the scum that do this kind of thing and I hope he never steps foot in the ground again. Strong opinion, I could say far worse, likely to stir up some vehement reaction which I will not bother reading. Oh, by the way, this piece of scum did this while EVERYONE else was spending the 5th minute applauding in respect for our late owner, Nigel Doughty.

Is your problem the sentiment or the timing?

Agree with Wes' reaction. Very wordy post, but what exactly are you complaining about? The poster, the fan holding it up during the game, the timing? Do you like Fawaz, is that it?
Actually pointless putting this reply because you won't read it, but it makes me feel better.

During the Arsenal-Chelsea game yesterday, when Arsenal were 3-0 down, the cameras focussed on a lone protester holding up a "time to leave" sign, aimed at Arsene Wenger.

Gary Neville, never one to mince his words said "that bloke is an idiot".

I felt the same when I saw someone raise a "Fawaz out" sign during the minutes applause.

„I believe in socialism because it seems more humanitarian, rather than every man for himself and 'I'm alright jack' and all those arsehole businessmen with all the loot. I made up my mind from viewing society from that angle. That's where I'm from and there's where I've made my decisions from. That's why I believe in socialism“

One minute to show your appreciation, 89 to protest. Clearly a "no brainer"!

If you want Fawaz out, there's a car park, offices and a monday to friday, even saturday morning to make your feelings known.
The 90mins when Forest are playing is reserved for team support. Not to voice off field events, anger and frustration.
It doesnt help the team seeing these posters, they're probably thinking "hope fazaw doesnt pull the plug, i want to be paid at the end of month".
I understand peoples frustration, but there's a time and place for everything. Match days and those 2hrs inside the ground is about the team, their performance, our support and the 3pts.

That would suit Fawaz a treat.

Limited numbers because of other commitments, no publicity and Fawaz nowhere near to be affected.

There is no need to add wood to the fire. The guy has to spend anywhere between 1-2m per month to keep things going. Fawaz is actively selling the club, and if he just decideds to pack up and leave, things would be a lot worse. Be careful for what you wish for. Let nature take its course, fawaz will eventually sell. And in the meantime he's making things better than they were before.
In the mean time, support the team, thats what we pay money for.
Try not to think "if i show support, fawaz will stay longer"... the guys losing 2m a month....he doesnt need more encouregement.

    He isn't though is he.

£13 million for Burke in the bank.

    January break even on transfers.

He won't spend a bean this season.

His candle is out but he won't let go, we will sell our best players to pay the bills until that source of income runs out, then what?

He is on the ropes and we should be hammering him rather than playing along with the pretence that everything is rosy.

If he walks away now the only difference is we will have a 3 year head start over when he walks away in 3 years leaving nothing behind.

    Point taken.
I still believe hes aware of the situation and will leave when he gets what in his view is an acceptable offer.
The fact that Forest is for sale is well knowm, any businessman interested in buying a club will know that, and there doesnt to be many offers at the moment, little or large...
I'd like to think that not selling the club to JJM was the harder decision, as selling, allbeit for a smaller value than expected, would have at least cut his losses. Maybe thats the best deal he'll ever be offered.

Each to their own I guess .

On a more pleasant note the party and fan March was a fantastic success enjoyed by all who attended. Thanks to FZ once again for trying to make an effort , not stamp it out as 'scum' and to the Saltbox for their fantastic venue.

I'd post the clips but can't workout how to embed but Ryan was a star .

CYA all at the next one

On a unrelated note is Bolero Square new ? I get the Ice stadium link but I am sure it wasn't there in 1997 , Fuck me its just dawned on me I left Nottingham 20 years ago, Wow let that sink in

And another year I will have spent just as much time up North as I did in Notts, I could support Leeds next year when they are in the prem and not feel bad.

It's been called that since the new stadium was built IIRC, there was just nothing else on it till they built the ice house flats and restaurant.

Go and have a gander at the "Care in the Community" sub-forum - there is a handy thread that tells you everything you need to know about embedding video into your forum posts.

In the "Sticky" bit at the top.
