Its not, what's scandalous is clubs using government funding to furlough staff while paying the footballers their wages.

Easy option is if you furlough one, you furlough all, see how they like 2.5k/month.

The contracts are set up where if the club force that, the player can leave on a free. Therefore the clubs ain't gonna do that.

It really should make society stand up & take notice of what matters.

So wank that we've a piss weak set of "leaders" running the show. Should impose a 20k/wk maximum wage cap on football, and redirect all the spare cash to funding the NHS. Suits and fannies moan? Hello, I'm a proper PM, meet the army and say hello to a prison cell.

Reshape this nation for the better.

The PFA are good for the 'defend the indefensible' comedy soundbites. It can be amusing to see some of the ridiculous ways they find to spin things.

Premier League players taking a pay cut will hurt the NHS.. God bless em. Doubling Mesut ÷zil's salary might be the only way we beat this pandemic.

Wonder if the Spanish equivalent have tried the same line on players in La Liga where some of the biggest stars have been handed suspended prison sentences for tax fraud.

The PL clubs that are furloughing non playing staff will be again in a few weeks/months buying players for £50m while the likes of SSN, Jim White & Sky sports Premier league fans will be getting all excited and lapping it up.

    Makes me want to puke

    No he's not.

Going in to work as a nurse, doctor or NHS worker, knowing you are going to be confronted, face to face, with a virus that is highly contagious and may kill you - That's being a hero.

Pointing out the painfully obvious and using your position to highlight it is - Well, it's good, much better than most in his position - but not heroic.

i think more would actually do it, if it meant the money was getting distributed correctly. at the moment its seems they take a pay cut and the owners save a bit of money, there no honour in that.

They're grown men, if they wanted to donate a percentage of their salary to charity there's nothing stopping them.

Under normal circumstances, if you're made unemployed and have to go to the government to seek financial assistance by claiming Universal Credit, then I believe there is a savings cut off point for when you can receive money.

I think the same should be true in coronavirus furloughing.

If you have more than £1m in savings, you do not need government assistance for a couple of months to buy essentials.

I wonder if he holds his banking friends who caused the financial crash to the same standards?

He's half way towards a 21st league defeat of the season another case of fine margins it will be no doubt. I never did rate him whilst he was here I think the board were right to push him.

He was allowed a whole new squad pretty much at QPR in the summer and they have stood still at best. Maybe they can appoint Karanka this summer and the debate can be finally be settled once and for all

Warbs is Warbs but he's got a tune out of Eze and Osayi-Samuel, which will net them a few quid.

They’re second top of the Moral Victory league table though.

    Good old Warburton.

QPR have conceded 71 goals this season, the third worst record in the league.

They've scored 61, the fifth best.

It makes for exciting games, but until he learns to appreciate the importance of defending he won't achieve anything.

QPR are ending the season badly as well. When Warburton was sacked we are all ready on the slide there's no reason to think we wouldn't have finished in a very lowly position around 18th/19th that season.

Warburton would benefit greatly if the game were to revert to an American football style defensive/offensive coordinator system.

Spent nothing, sold £10m worth of player, comfortably mid-table with QPR. It's not glamorous, but he is effective at what he does, even if some don't like it.

With hindsight I think it was right we moved him on, as our move towards the European market and building a squad we're unlikely to want to disrupt by always selling and buying.

However, he was the right man at the right time when he was here. He helped us avoid relegation in his first season, cemented us a decent mid/upper table side, and helped balance our books. People would do well to remember that, and be thankful we got him when we did and not someone else like Cotterill, else we'd have got relegated and the Marinakis takeover may never have happened.

Also, he can do his bit for Forest at the weekend. If his QPR side don't lose to Millwall then for all intents and purposes it guarantees Forest a place in the top six.

I agree completeley, I have Warbuton down in the same breath as Dean Smith, Roberto Martinez, Pellegrini etc.... All play free flowing football but they are flat track bullies. They are good when they have better players but when teh quality of your squad isnt the best they simply cant get the best out of the squad and the defence goes to pot.
