    Never a truer word written.

Some fans liked MW, other's Karanka, Alf loved Billy, some even wanted Dougie but they all failed, one might be better then the other in some peoples opinions but they all failed.

Time to succeed for a change.

I believe that when you go to court you promise to tell the truth, the whole truth and nothing but the truth.

Might be better if you bear this in mind when arguing about the relative abilities of managers, rather than just selecting the bits of their career which appeal to your argument.

Not directed at any particular individual, just trying to shorten these endless discussions which go round in circles and end up disappearing up the chuff.

Not many successes for this football club for the many years it has been existence.

Might also be worth bearing in mind that if you don't like a discussion you aren't forced to read it. You can ignore it, skip past it...anything you want. Easy peasy.

A simple "yes" would have been fine but thanks for clarifying.

So both failed as they didn't have us promoted by the end of the christmas period in their respective seasons. So every manager is going to be a failure, every manager in the championship was a failure this season!

Taking it to the Nth degree there Mouldy.

Their stints at Forest are over and we are still in the Championship. Promotion is success.

It only takes a second to score a goal.

By christmas, according to the standards we seem to be discussing.

I just want to be clear on what is good enough and is not good enough for Nottingham Forest and try and work out how the hell someone, anyone is going to deliver it.

Their stints are over, the boards is not. The problem still sits there as far as I can see.

mcginn is probably up there with one of the biggest mistakes we made. im pretty sure AK record with the same squad was alot worse the warburtons?

Easy to say, but unless you read it you don't know you don't want to read it.

Anyway, just stirring the pot. More importantly, Doris Day has just died.

The comparisin becomes skewed when you consider AK set out to fulfill the brief in stages, first one being teaching it the basics of shape & discipline. Results are bound to suffer in the short term.

Ultimately he saw it for what it was, mid table fodder that couldnt stand up for itself. Hence the overhaul.

As for McGinn, decent player in amongst a very decent side, no telling whether he'd have prospered here.

take greanlish out that side and they are no better then us, its make or break for them this season, greanlish, abraham, al ghazi all go if they dont get promotion. it does to an extent also becomes skewed with backing received.

Let me know when we have players as good as Mings, Abraham, McGinn, Hourihane or Chester.

we were above them in the table all season until greanlish came back mid feb, would say colback, carvalho, lolley and grabban are just as good as anyone they have got, mings is better then any of our defenders but still think we have a decent defence

The season isn't won in December though, all that really matters is the final table. They finished well above us, look like the most likely playoff winners, and played us off the park at the City Ground. They're comfortably a better side pretty much player for player, with a couple of exceptions. If O'Neill joined a team midseason with players like Grealish, McGinn, Mings, Abraham and Hourihane in it then he would have waltzed into the playoffs at worst IMO.

There there record for this season, greanlish came back for the stoke match and they went on a 13 game winning run run before that they were about 10th. You talk about the city ground match but they had greanlish and he is the difference between them and us. Hopefully carvalho matures into his full potential next season where he pulls defences apart and makes enough space for the rest. Without greanlish villa are no better then us.

Just provided you with stats without greanlish there mediocre and with they won 13 on the bounce. Stats dont lie. He provides that space for the rest with his quality and drawing players out. That's what we need a 13million pound carvalho to do. That what warburton never had

Says he has toughened up and learnt from the experiences at Rangers and Forest.

Cummings and Bridcutt. Would he... probably not if he has learnt from his experiences then.

Bridcutt isn't a bad player, just not fancied by either AK or MON. If QPR need that type of player then I don't see why Warburton wouldn't consider it, a decent Championship midfielder that wouldn't cost them much. Certainly don't think he's daft enough to sign Cummings twice though.

That and the ability to stop conceding goals. Even now, Brentford still concede a fuck load of goals every season... which is why they don’t get in the playoffs
