I'm comparing his attributes to them as an example of someone who is good at that particular style of play. He literally isn't amazing at anything.

    But again I reiterate.
Defoe aside, they weren’t good at that particular style of play at Breretons age.

Pardew apparently wants him on loan at Den Haag.

I mean if Veldwijk can do it in the Eredivise Ben should be able too.

Quickest fall from grace I think I've ever seen.

In eighteen months it's gone from "Can we keep him? Will the PL big boys give us £20m-£25m which may be too much?" through to an £8m transfer to a league rival which split opinion through to potentially going on loan abroad to a poor league for a poor club.

Crazy. What's happened to the player we saw against Arsenal who had the world at his feet?

I never rated Brereton I thought his shooting technique was awful for where people thought he was going to get to in his career.

The poor lad made the mistake of going to Blackburn, that's his downfall.

I have family from up that way. It's afucking dump, especially after the big city lights of Nottingham.

Doubt there's much tits or fanny around either.

Piss poor transfer to undertake for a young man in his prime, but the lure of moollah overrides so many sensible decisions, especially in the young.

My gf is from up that way and it's like being in the twilight zone when you go up there, drive through Wigan, Blackburn, Preston, Warrington, Burnley etc. it's just all the same place, it's bizarre.

The thing I remember most about that lad was he was always scratching his balls on the pitch. I noticed it when he was off in Georgia with England at the UEFA U19 tournament, the ball would go out of play and he'd have a good go at his shorts, and it continued every time I saw him play for Forest after that. Must have picked up some Georgian crabs or other fine souvenir while over there.....

seems him burke, even bamford either delayed there development or it came to a stand still when they took premature moves. compare them with cash, at that age you cant take out dismiss how much the enviromental impact has on there development.

Talented lad, and ironically if he'd have stayed he'd have got more game time than he's had at Blackburn. Again, it comes down to players making the right decisions rather than just being convinced they should have everything straight away.

Hopefully it does eventually work out for him and he doesn't end up llike Burke.

Quite a few years ago now I had to go to Blackburn on the train and the station platform had weeds growing through the slabs that were (I kid you not) 3 to 4 foot high. Probably the most run down town I have ever seen (although Mansfield is getting close).

I can't recall his transfer: did he demand it, or was it the Club made him go so they could get the £7m and avoid a possible FFP breach?

I don't think it was either, he wanted to be 1st choice striker but AK had him as 3rd choice, Blackburn came in with a good bid we accepted and he agreed to go. There could of been agent shenanigans in the background that we're unaware of.

Ironic to think he'd have probably gotten far more game time if he'd stayed here. Yet we are 7 million quid better off and his career is disappearing down the toilet.

It was absolutely fantastic work by the club to get £7m for what is effectively a League Two standard striker. Brereton's got one move, and that's to dive whenever he gets near the box because he doesn't have the vision, confidence or ability to actually to take on a player, have a shot or find a teammate.
