Has he scored for Blackburn yet? If not then the 13th April seems destined.

3 starts, 3 defeats, no goals. Oh dear.

Ive got more chance of starting for Blackburn than BB.

I really thought we had a top player on our hands when he destroyed Arsenal (albeit Rob Holding and an aging Mertesacker) in the cup last year.

Not that I wish him any ill...............but I do keep on their forum in reference to Ben. He has actually scored 3 goals in 2 games for their U23s! Cracking bit of business that

The irony of it all is that Brereton left because he said he wanted first team football, yet if he'd have stayed he'd probably have gotten more game time here than he has at Blackburn.

I think O'Neill would have definitely played him over the past few months.

Karanka played him plenty, he obviously had a high opinion of himself and thought he was better than Grabban.

Brereton would probably have suited Karanka's system more than Murphy as a backup to Grabban. He would have certainly got more game time had he stayed than what he's currently getting at Blackburn (which is none).

£7 million for someone who is destined to be a third division striker at best based on his current career trajectory looks like amazing business either way.

Pants so firmly down they're in the sewer. 7m was daylight robbery in hindsight.

First thing he does is try to win a penalty. Boy hasn’t learnt. Career down the pan.

3 points is fair compensation for the 7m to be honest.

If a cameo summed up a players career choices... first touch, tries to invite contact and win a penalty. Second touch, stumbles over his own feet and gives it away

Spot on. Summed him up perfectly, and provided a couple of truly laugh out loud moments.

I am struggling to think of another player with such promise whose career has stalled so spectacularly?

Probably should have got one too. His reputation precedes him. Shame.

I'll bet Ben is pretty cheesed off sitting on the bench/in the reserves, but he's probably set up for life now, so it's not all bad news.
