    Default Lewis Walters

21 year old striker from Leeds signed on a free after being released. No official announcement yet but he's posted a pic on instagram of him and Gary Brazil signing a contract

He has been playing for the U23 as a Winger , He is strong makes good runs but ended up losing the ball a lot when I watched him , A bit like a young Antonio but not much end product.

Now I have only watched him the once and GB must have seen something in him but he is very raw. Worth a gamble ? Who knows it not my money. I did say at the time its a No from me but I hope he proves me wrong.
    Good luck Lewis.

    Noel Whelan rates him

    http://www.insidefutbol.com/2016/05/...ed-duo/286985/

"But I’m a little bit surprised that Lewis Walters has not been given another contract”, he continued.

“I thought he was somebody that could be a serious contender to start so that’s something I am a little bit disappointed about.

“I don’t think he has been given enough time and he definitely has the attributes there to be a great player.

"It’s obviously not to be, so we’ll just have to take that one on the chin.”

He also had a trial at the blades before us.

    Sheffield United ✔ @SUFC_tweets
George Long and trialist Lewis Walters are on the Blades bench for tonight’s friendly at FC Halifax Town. Team to follow #twitterblades

It's not like we couldn't do with a little more cover for the inevitable biscuit apocalypse and we know Brazil's not one to keep a lad around if he isn't making progress.

    He's very welcome.

Can mods move this to the banter forum? As I assume he's playing and signed contract so is an official forest player!

I read a few forum posts from Leeds fans last year and they were asking why he wasn't being given a chance or being sent out on loan.

It might be one of those Tyler Walker situations. Maybe he just needs a bit of match time, and possibly loan experience.

I reckon he'll be in our first team before Christmas.

Cummings, Brereton, Clough, Walters, Walker, Appiah. There's some real young talent queuing up behind Britt.
If and when we cash in on him it would be nice to think we might not need to buy a replacement.

If any of them go on to score as many as Britt I'll be amazed.

Even Brereton, whilst a definite quality player, isn't the goalscorer he is.

“All the world will be your enemy, Prince with a Thousand Enemies, and whenever they catch you, they will kill you. But first they must catch you, digger, listener, runner, prince with the swift warning. Be cunning and full of tricks and your people shall never be destroyed.”

I dont give a shit who is sticking them away, as long as some ones doing it on a weekly basis.

For sure, none will poach like Britt and only Warburton can decide what his front 3 looks like.

    In simple terms if he had £10-£20m in the bank he might prefer a 3 x 15 goal front 3, rather than a 1 x 25 and 2 x 10 goal front 3.
We are fans and of course we want utopia and a 3 x 25 goal front 3

My other post did say "queuing" behind Britt and we pay Warburton, Weir, Brazil and Lester to make these decisions for us.....currently anyway.
Just saying, in my eyes they are the sort of options that might show us progressing as a sustainable football club (for once).

Maybe Stoke are kicking themselves for letting Ben Brereton go as well.

So is he close to to making a first team debut? At 22 you'd like to think to, otherwise he needs to get some real experience very soon.

Surely a loan is the way to go. By 22 you need to be paying weekly in order to advance.
