It's been a harsh lesson for us, but the lesson still stands - never reject Anel.

Anel Ahmedhodzic played the full 90 minutes for Malmo in the Europa League last night in 1-2 defeat away to Wolfsburg. Add in his first Swedish cap recently. Been a good few months for him.

His Dad told me that it's completely unacceptable that he isn't captain of both club and country yet and it's a disgrace that he doesn't have 50 caps.
Or it might have been something about fermented fish, hard to tell.

When you consider how many shit loans we have had when we had a potential gem in the under 23's whom we refused to give any game time,it really doesn't make sense.

To be fair to all of them when you are a manager at a cluster**** of a club like Forest who's modus operandi is to sack you inside 6 months (with fan approval) because you're only 12th then you aren't going to put time into developing a player who may only mature 6 managers after you've gone.

They need players for the here and now, not the future.

Players like Worrall, Cash and dare I say Osborn are the exception and not the rule.

Just keep mocking. Aged 20,full international, playing Europa League. All achieved within a year of us releasing him. Achievements most of our players could only dream of.

1st off hes playing in Sweden

2nd players in the league of Wales also play in the Europa league, it's no achievement nor is it the champions league or anything to look on with envy at.

3rd his Sweden "cap" was not on an international break

4th if hes such a superstar, why did we release him? We dont mistakes like that anymore.

I'm not sure any of our young players dream of any of them things to be honest.

If you're Swedish and you play international football it's likely to be for Sweden.

Usually you get your full caps when everybody else is off on an international break

Do players in the Swedish league get more pay than our bomb squad players? Obviously better for your CV to get caps and things, but think about the real reason for playing football.

A firs team Swedish player (at one one of their top clubs) will earn more than a yet-to-breakthrough Forest youngster.

The difference is when that break comes though. I imagine Cash and Worrall are now sitting on five-figures-a-week wages which will be in excess to 99% of players in the Swedish league, and if they ever get a move to the Premier League then those salaries will just double, treble, quadruple again.

There were some huge proponents of this lad on here from many years ago. Posters who know their stuff.

It's clear they were right and we dropped a bollock.

Time to be making those statements is when hes playing at a level above ours, let's not be daft to suggest that the swedish league is on par with even the 3rd division in this country. It's like a colder Scottish prem.

Fact is his old man got above his station and took his star man away and his career hinges on that decision. If it were to all go to shit for him tomorrow he will have achieved nothing compared to say Worrall, Cash or Osborn.

For starters at least Cash had genuine interest from AC Milan and not made up bollocks from his dad. Worrall played in the Europa for Rangers and Osborn is a squad player in the prem.

You can only play so many CB's at any one time.

What probably sent him ‘over the edge’ was the fact Karanka preferred time play a central midfielder and a left-back as centre backs even when every other centre back was out. Plus it was no secret that Karanka did not like taking any risks on bringing young players into the team.

Ironically, he’d probably have got a chance if he waited for MON or Mouch.

He is a talent. But he wanted first team football. We couldn't give him it, because he wasn't prepared yet to handle the physicality it would bring.

By the same token, lower league teams wouldn't loan him for the same purpose, so he wasn't going to get the football he wanted and needed with us.

I can see him making a good career for himself on the continent. But he wanted to leave and his contract was coming to an end, it made sense for him to move on.

    I hope we have a sell-on though.

Good luck to the lad, I watched a bit of the Europa League game last week and he was impressive. A lovely passer of the ball.

A casualty of our rather scattergun approach to buying players over the last few years.

Nice to be a big fish in a small pond isnít it?

Shame he didnít have the gonads to stick around and fight for a place in a competitive league.

I reckon Sabri could have made him into a decent player.

    Anelís loss.

Anel's win now plays every match
    Positive efforts

Anel Ahmedhodzic wiped away a few passes but also shows traits that allow him to disappear from the MFF this summer.

The technique, the speed and the ball skill are of such kind.

And if you are 20 years old and showcase such skills, you will be proud of the transfer market. With a high price tag
