    Good intelligent player, lacked a bit of pace and suffered from inaccuracy with his head and feet. But always there, always ready. Never shy'd away from the graft. many games where came on at the end and put in a shift at both ends of the pitch.

    Good luck Dexter.

    I wonder how much of this was based on PM taking a look at the young lad, Thorne, when we played Millwall in the cup. He's clearly not ready yet but could probably pose, let's us a 5/10 attacking threat. Blackstock will be one of the club's top earners and yet only really pose a 6/10 attacking threat. Why keep a player on £20k a week when there's someone in the academy on £2k a week who might be able to do a similar job.

    I actually rate Blackstock, i'd have put him above Vellios in the pecking order but I understand the club's decision. Return on investment is something that Forest need to really consider, players on high wages that are not match winners or regular starters shouldn't be a high earner. This is exactly where we need to utilise the academy. Case in point - Robert Tesche, does he really offer anymore than Matty Cash? a wise choice to get rid and if rumours of his wage (25k a week!) were right then it'll save us over £1m a year.

    Next one to consider is Jack Hobbs. If he won't feature, Jettison.

    This news has made me much sadder than thought it would.

    It makes sense, as he was never quite the same player after that terrible injury at Cardiff, but Dex never gave less than 100% in any game that I saw him in (and i'd say I saw most of them).

    He scored some important goals as well and was a real team player. Seemed like a very honest and likeable bloke too. He leaves with my best wishes and will definitely give him a good round of applause and a rendition of "Super Dex" when he comes back to the CG.

    Players that wear the Garibaldi with pride, in good and bad times, will always have my respect.

    So long Dex, we'll always have Bristol City at home!

    As others have commented the Bristol and Newcastle games stick out for Dex, but for me its the lone striker role he took on regularly against a back 4 of thugs that the sheep called a defence. Dexter mother fookin Blackstock thannk you.

    Dex's vital contributions:

    *Played a massive part in saving us from L1 when Billy bought him here;
    *Helped take us to 2 playoffs during 2 great seasons;
    *Played an even bigger part in saving us from relegation under Cotterill, when he rose from the ashes to score 8 goals in 16 games.
    *Returned last season to contribute a few vital goals, and ensure relegation was staved off again.

    Probably one of the most positive signings we've made in recent history. He goes in the "Post-Prem legend" category for me.

    Good luck Dex, without you we'd have been a L1 club several times over. Ta muchly.

    Surprised at this, not sure on his injury situation but I'd have kept him around, for cover and an option off the bench at least.

    As Alf said, he's made some big contributions over a number of years at both ends of the table and has always come across as a decent bloke.

    Good luck Dex.

    Did a good job and was a decent bloke. But the Club have done the right thing and let him go. Past his best 2 or 3 years ago.
