Thing is, even if he doesn't turn out to be a gem - it's a low risk signing and won't cost us. If it doesn't work out, he will be easy to sell on - unlike the old transfer methods of signing a Danny Fox on massive wages with nobody wanting him.

I'm just glad to see us using an actual scouting network for the first time in the 21st century, which is absolutely shocking when you think about it. I'm actually quite optamistic coming into this new ownership, unlike a new traditional owner that will come in - this guy seems to know football and his a contact list as long as your arm.

Nothing much. That is the start of last season though, judging by how things went he had a good season this year so could be better. His price raised an awful lot on transfermarkt last season. I think he will very much be a squad player, I'm certainly not expecting any miracles from him.

Even more important I noticed this: 'Traits added: Injury-Free', which is towards the bottom. Think someone needs to tell him who he's joining.

Using some convoluted reasoning to suit his seemingly ever-negative agenda, that 'Jimmy Gordon'/'The Wolf' character on Vital is trying to convince his followers on there that this can only be "a Fawaz signing", claiming there's no evidence to suggest Monty, Pedro or anyone representing Marinakis are involved.

Dont think anyones disputing that size is a basic requirement at the base of midfield.

The original point centred around what we need based on last years showing. We have a need for experience & leadership, an uncompromising ball winner with the ability to go box to box. Genuinely believe our man needs a good knowledge of this league.

Id have taken a Patrick Viera over a Makalele or Kante to sort our midfield woes from last season.

With our kind of lightweight midfielders , would prefer to have a big powerful defensive midielder to balance it out. Would be great if we could really go after that Aly Ghazal guy. He looks great in his clips . very patrick viera-like in stature and playing style. Viera is his idol and he hopes to play in the premiership one day.

    'Ball playing', 'takes risks'.

No, we just need defenders to defend.

We're Nottingham Forest, in the championship one of toughest, most physical leagues in the world, not Barcelona.

    3+1 year deal signed.

Training with the team for the first time tomorrow.

    According to the finish press.

But the majority expectation is that we play good football so having a ball playing centre half would massively help that.

And when I say take risks, I mean try ambitious through balls for wingers to run onto which we've not had from our centre backs much. Or striding forward with the ball and showing confidence, being fearless even after a mistake has been made. That's what I want to see, and it's what we need.

Just got to have players who don't cower in fear of the physical battle and the atmosphere, as well as having the inner steel to defend for their lives and win matches. That doesn't mean I think that we're Barcelona.

Just spoke to the most knowledgeable Finish football account on twitter.

They reckon he is possibly most capable in midfield but will need to come to terms with the physicality.

One for the (hopefully not-too-distant) future then. Good to see.

There's a photo on his instagram signing the contract so it's a done deal.

Agree the trouble with Forest and i have been saying for a couple of years we lack the tall, no nonsense midfielder who wins headers. Our team as been to small and lightweight for this league and i have become sick and tired of teams coming to us and basically bully us, this as to stop

i hope his stats are wrong if they are not, he will get battered

    - Weaknesses
    Aerial Duels
    Weak
    Tackling
    Weak
    Discipline
    Weak
